Today is this lady's birthday, so here is some info:

Over the course of a career that has spanned five decades, she has starred in musical theatre, films and television, as well as performing in solo concerts and recordings. hbg, Thanks again for the info, and Barbara's Love Makes a Woman and Am I the Same Woman were great.

Love Tonight You Belong to me by Steve and Bernadette. I had forgotten The Jerk.

edgar, The Sadder but Wiser Girl from The Music Man was great. Loved that great musical.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, Andrea.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, We'll never know what happened to Glenn Miller. There have been a lot of rumors concerning his plane, too.

Love that one by him. Was that Johnny Mercer singing that version of Chattanooga Choo Choo? When I was a kid and performing on Telerama, some guy that I didn't know, but really liked came back stage and said:

Pardon me Roy is that the cat that ate your new shoes. Later, I discovered it was Don Galloway. Need to check that out.

Today is Harry Belafonte's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

today is the birthday of " FREDDY " Chopin .

Frédéric François Chopin (pron.: /ˈʃoʊpæn/; French pronunciation: [fʁe.de.ʁik ʃɔ.pɛ̃]) or Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin[1] (1 March or 22 February 1810[2] – 17 October 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist. He is widely considered one of the greatest Romantic composers.[3] Chopin was born in Żelazowa Wola, a village in the Duchy of Warsaw. A renowned child-prodigy pianist and composer, he grew up in Warsaw and completed his music education there; he composed many of his mature works in Warsaw before leaving Poland in 1830 at age 20, shortly before the November 1830 Uprising

@hamburgboy,
Here's the one that I meant, hbg.

Donald "Don" Galloway was an American actor of stage, film and television, a political libertarian and journalist, perhaps best known for his role as Raymond Burr's protégé, Detective Sergeant Ed Brown, on the long-running crime drama Ironside.

I think that was Johnny Mercer and The Pied Pipers singing that song.

Love The Minute Waltz by "Freddy" Razz and Victor is my favorite Dane. We're in inflation again here and he said so with words. Any two five elevenith? Anyone for tennis.

I found out later that Don had died.

Be sure and check out Harry. I know that our edgar loves him.

here's funny Victor in less than a minute.

Now his song.

good morning to all !

birthday greetings to Bedrich Smetana :

Quote:
Bedřich Smetana (Czech pronunciation: [ˈbɛdr̝ɪx ˈsmɛtana] ( listen); 2 March 1824 – 12 May 1884) was a Czech composer who pioneered the development of a musical style which became closely identified with his country's aspirations to independent statehood. He is thus widely regarded in his homeland as the father of Czech music. Internationally he is best known for his opera The Bartered Bride, for the symphonic cycle Má vlast ("My Fatherland"), which portrays the history, legends and landscape of the composer's native land, and for his First String Quartet From My Life.

Good morning. I quit participating last night, because my wife was slightly ill and needed to sleep.
I've grown to like Bon Jovi somewhat. Lion Sleeps tonight - I used to think the lead singer was Neil Sedaka on that one, because he actually did become a member of The Tokens for a time.
