Oops, lost my reply to myself. We'll begin anew.

Today is Jane Seymore's birthday and I think most of us remember her with poor Christopher Reeves. Here is the theme from the movie.

Now, Thomas More who wrote this song to his wife when she had a disease that scarred her face. He slipped it under her door.

Hmmm, edgar must be waltzing across Texas.

another oops. thanks for Roy's Crying Over you, edgar. My bad.

Great having Ontario and Scotland with us today as well as our tsar.

here is another birthday boy : Wayne King

( apparently aka. " The Waltz King " ).

Quote:
Wayne King (February 16, 1901 – July 16, 1985) was an American musician, songwriter, singer and orchestral leader. He was sometimes referred to as "the Waltz King" because much of his most popular music involved waltzes; "The Waltz You Saved For Me" was his standard set closing song in live performance and on numerous radio broadcasts at the height of his career.

edgar, thanks for your comment. Peter LaFarge, full blooded American Indian, reminded me a bit of Lake LeBerge and the cremation of Sam McGee.

I think most of us know the statue of The Yanks raising the flag on Iwo Jima was staged.

Ah, poor Ira Hayes.

One to match.

Hurry back, hbg. Don't get any fender benders. Razz

Vera Ellen's Naughty but Nice was funny. Also enjoyed Sonny and Cher's song. First one I heard by them was The Beat Goes On.

My word, folks, I just found out that Mickey Rooney is still with us. The first one I recall by him was Puck in a Midsummer Night's Dream. (we'll never know about Shakespeare)

First, his ending speech.
Only Puck remains, to ask the audience for its forgiveness and approval and to urge it to remember the play as though it had all been a dream.

Now, The War March of the Priests.

@Letty,
msletty ,

we saw Mickey Rooney about ten years ago in Toronto - but can't remember in what play he appeared ( he certainly got lots of laughs , that i do remember ) .

Quote:
Personal life

Rooney has been married eight times.

( must be CLOSE to a record ! ... Wink ... )

In the 1950s and 1960s, he was often the subject of comedians' jokes for his alleged inability to stay married. He is currently married to Jan Chamberlin. He has a total of nine children, as well as nineteen grandchildren[23] and several great-grandchildren.

@edgarblythe,
That happens to me a lot, edgar. Suffice it to say they still play.

Ah, the multi-lingual Harry. Love The Drummer and the Cook. Still can't figure out how that is associated with Mark Twain, however.

Saying goodnight with another Chopin and Perry.

Now dear Perry Como.

@Letty,
The Belafonte songs that have the Mark Twain thing on the video are from an album that is titled, Mark Twain and other folk favorites. But, one of the songs actually is called Mark Twain
