Thanks again for your comment, edgar.

As you know, I love Judy Collins and Who Knows Where the Time Goes was superb.

Going to say goodnight a wee bit early as I'm concerned once again about my Carrie.

First, Queen remembering Freddy Mercury.

another birthday for today : Harry Wayne Casey ( aka. K.C. )

Quote:
Harry Wayne "K.C." Casey (born January 31, 1951) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is most famous for his group, KC and the Sunshine Band, and as a producer of several hits for other artists.

the name Harry Wayne Casey did not mean anything to me ...

that changed when i realized that he was the founder of

" KC and the Sunshine Band " - even this old fellow has listened to their music .

better put your BOOGIE SHOES on Wink

edgar, Thanks again for your comments, and I didn't know your goodnight song, Ciao, Ciao by Domenico, but it was great. Certainly know your good morning song by James Brown. I always have loved him, Texas.

hbg, Love Volare, and Barbara's version of I Feel Pretty was really good.

Miz Izz, Welcome back. Love both Your Scottish song and The Man who Can't Be Moved. Hope I didn't get them backwards, lovely lady.

Today is this marvelous poet's birthday, so here is a tribute to the man.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment. Odd, I could speak some French before I took French 101.

My problem, is that I Can't spell it. Rolling Eyes

Speak to me of love
And say what I’m longing to hear
Tender words of love
Repeat them again
I implore you; speak to me of love
Whisper these words to me, dear
I adore you,
I want to hear, to hear those words that are so dear,
I want to hear you say I love you.

The meter isn't exactly right on those lyrics, however.

A birthday man salute.

good afternoon msletty , ed and all other listeners to WA2K !

today is the birthday of James P Johnson ( if the name isn't familiar to you , the music will ) .

Quote:
James P. Johnson (James Price Johnson, also known as Jimmy Johnson; February 1, 1894 – November 17, 1955) was an American pianist and composer. A pioneer of the stride style of jazz piano, he along with Jelly Roll Morton, were arguably the two most important pianists who bridged the ragtime and jazz eras, and the two most important catalysts in the evolution of ragtime piano into jazz.

As such, he was a model for Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Art Tatum and his more famous pupil, Fats Waller

here is Art Tatum to play JPJ's ( Carolina ) " Shout ) :

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Odd, I know the name Art Tatum, but had no idea that he did Mardi Gras. Just found out he was blind from birth.

I know LuLu's back in town best by Nat Cole.

As I have mentioned before, I know Emundo Ros because of Brucie (Rip)
