@Barry The Mod,
Barry, you sent me searching again.

Phil Beer (born 12 May 1953, Exminster, Devon) is an English multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and one half of English acoustic roots duo Show of Hands.

Love it, love it, love it: Flowers of the Forest-The Holy Brook-When This Bloody War is over was a great trio of songs. Thanks for you comment, my cockney friend.

Here's one of your boys with Willie.

@hamburgboy,
and here is Franzl Lang - a yodeler from switzerland
( yodelling : my father is from Appenzell )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oat0pXJfgJ8

Quote:
Appenzeller cheese is a hard cow's-milk cheese produced in the Appenzell region of northeast Switzerland. A herbal brine, sometimes incorporating wine or cider, is applied to the wheels of cheese while they cure, which flavors and preserves the cheese while promoting the formation of a rind.

Appenzeller has a documented history of at least 700 years. Today, about 75 dairies produce it, each with a different recipe for their brine wash. Most of the recipes are trade secrets.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, I missed your song Invitation to the Dance. Great one by Miss Durbin.

Love both of your yodeling songs. Boy, they bring back memories

Here's a birthday girl singing with one of my favorite Italians.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIoPIBl_1Cg

and the lyrics:

It's impossible, tell the sun to leave the sky, it's just impossible
It's impossible, ask a baby not to cry, it's just impossible
Can I hold you closer to me and not feel you goin' through me?
Split the second that I never think of you? Oh, how impossible

Can the ocean keep from rushin' to the shore? It's just impossible
If I had you, could I ever want for more? It's just impossible
And tomorrow, shouldya ask me for the world, somehow I'd get it
I would sell my very soul and not regret it
For to live without your love--It's just impossible

Can the ocean keep from rushin' to the shore? It's just impossible
If I had you, could I ever want for more? It's just impossible
And tomorrow, shouldya ask me for the world, somehow I'd get it
I would sell my very soul and not regret it
For to live without your love--It's just impossible

one of the great jazz musicians has his birthday today : Fletcher Henderson

here he plays " Sugarfoot Stomp " with his orchestra

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU0ybjKEuX8

Quote:
James Fletcher Hamilton Henderson, Jr. (December 18, 1897 – December 29, 1952) was an American pianist, bandleader, arranger and composer, important in the development of big band jazz and swing music. His was one of the most prolific black orchestras and his influence was vast. He was often known as "Smack" Henderson (apparently named due to his college baseball hitting skills).[1] Fletcher is ranked among Duke Ellington as one of the most influential arrangers in jazz history, and helped bridge the gap between the jazz and swing era.

@hamburgboy,
to hbg, edgar, and McTag.

first, Love Barnacle Bill the Sailor by Bix; Love Bim Bam Bum by the "X" man. Also Sugar Foot's I Found a New Baby.

McTag, glad you're alright. The condensation from the Thames can be very bad for respiration.

Come All Ye Tramps and that Waltz--great.

Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Here's a nice treat by a birthday guy, but first some info.

Alvin Lee is an English rock guitarist and singer. He began playing guitar at the age of 13, and with Leo Lyons formed the core of the band Ten Years After in 1960.

Christmas Party.
