@edgarblythe,
Dear edgar and all WA2K contributors. I was in Orlando this weekend helping GJ who was in that terrible wreck and was rear ended.

As you know, my way of thanking all of you is to thumb up your responses.

One bright moment, however, as I met a lovely Afro lady who still sang with a jazz band. We discussed the situation, then she turned to one of her precious children and said, "I'll bet this lady knows Go Tell it On the Mountain. Then I responded with the first two lines and they all smiled.

Wonderful music from Ontario and London. I will try and comment tomorrow. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Saying goodnight with two songs. First Go Tell it On the Mountain.

Now, because I truly love Oscar Peterson, one by him and Singers Unlimited.

Love to all of our music lovers and writers, from Letty with same.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, I loved Try a Little Tenderness by Ray, and The Swedish Palace Guard was excellent.

Good morning from here in Florida. Today is Mike Mills's birthday and he performs with REM.

Find the River.

Another by Singers Unlimited. There are a lot of items about when Indian Summer occurs, but my Irish friend Al(RIP) convinced me that it was a warm day in December.

@Barry The Mod,

Barry, that photo of the fireplace with logs burning along with your caption gave me a grin.

Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas was great. Thanks, London.

Here's a surprise. Ella doing Frosty.

@Letty,
I often try to find something different, Letty. I am not sure that anyone here likes this type of music, but these girl singers from Korea are really cute.

@hamburgboy,
if you have "googled " today , you have probably noticed :

" Nutcracker Ballett - 120 years " .

here is the Flower Waltz from the Nutcracker Ballett .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Au8EDsQfI

Quote:
The Nutcracker (Russian: Щелкунчик, Балет-феерия, Shchelkunchik, Balet-feyeriya; French: Casse-Noisette, Ballet-Féerie), is a two-act ballet, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The libretto is adapted from E.T.A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King". It was given its première at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on Sunday, 18 December 1892, on a double-bill with Tchaikovsky's opera, Iolanta.[1]

Although the original production was not a success, the twenty-minute suite that Tchaikovsky extracted from the ballet was. However, the complete Nutcracker has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960s and is now performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in the U.S.[2] Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions, in particular the pieces featured in the suite.[3] Among other things, the score is noted for its use of the celesta, an instrument that the composer had already employed in his much lesser known symphonic ballad The Voyevoda.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, I adore Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballett.(is that spelled correctly?) The Flower Waltz is one of my favorites. Thanks for the info, incidentally. Love the conductor and the rest of the Oriental performers.

Inspired by our edgar, I found out that "England Dan" of this fabulous duo has died.

This song has a special meaning to me.

Funny, edgar, and I don't think that Herman Melville or that great white whale has to worry.

I think they called themselves Led Zeppelin to prevent us "mericans" of saying that goes over like a lead balloon.

Great one by them Led boys, Barry. Doesn't CODA mean the end? Something very East Indian about that performance.

How about another stairway.

Dexter Gordon is great.
