@Barry The Mod,
Another frog night for me, Barry. Love In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning.

"I jumped from my bed to see what was the matter; the moon on the crest of the new fallen snow, gave a luster of midday to objects below, when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer."

Phil Ochs does Poe. (miss The Realm)

@Letty,
My goodness, Letty! Please tell me you're up early. If not, it's way past bedtime.

@roger,
Roger, Welcome back to our radio. When I got an email from my daughter concerning the massacre at that elementary school, I couldn't sleep. I tried to for a couple of hours and was successful, but then I arose to shake the tears from my eyes and thought of Poe's bells and realizing that we would never know the mystery behind the man and his demise.

You may have heard this one before, but it's Bobby Darin doing Softly As in the Morning Sunrise. (no sun here, however)

Good morning. I was exhausted, I think, without realizing it, last night. I rarely sleep as late as 8 o'clock. I dearly love Phil Ochs and Bobby Darin.

Thanks for the comment, edgar. Love Aura Lee by "gentleman Jim"

More synchronicity, Texas. Today is dj's birthday and here's another dj whose birthday is today. Believe me, I know what you mean by tired.

Here's one of my favorites by him.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, my cockney friend. I love that one by John Lee Hooker. Blues for Christmas reminded me of "the king".

Here is a Steve McQueen tribute with Glenn Yarbrough to sing about it

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Glenn's Baby the Rain Must Fall is great. I had forgotten that Steve McQueen did the original Thomas Crown Affair. and I think "the circle in the spiral" had to do with the way his plane kept spiraling in circles.

@edgarblythe,
I think Pierce Brosnan did the most popular version of that movie, edgar.

Love that song by Englebert Humperdinck, and I think the bicycles he is singing about are somewhere in England, but I need to check that out, Texas.

Thinking about Dean Martin again as I met an Italian guy in the supermarket the other day and sang a few bars of this one to him which made him smile.

Show of Hands - Country Life....

Working in the rain cutting down wood
Didn't do my little brother much good
Lost two fingers in a chainsaw bite
All he does now is drink and fight
Sells a bit of grass,hots up cars
Talks of travel never gets far
Loves his kids left his wife
An everyday story of country life

And the red brick cottage where I was born
Is the empty shell of a holiday home
Most of the year there's no-one there
The village is dead and they don't care
Now we live on the edge of town
Haven't been back since the pub closed down
One man's family pays the price
For another man's vision of country life

My old man is eighty four
His generation won the war
He left the farm forever when
They only kept on one in ten
Landed gentry county snobs
Where were you when they lost their jobs
No-one marched or subsidised
To save a country way of life

Silent fields empty lanes
Drifting smoke distant flames
Picture postcard hills on fire
Cattle burning in funeral pyres
Out to graze they look so sweet
We hate the blood we want the meat
Buy me a beer I'll take my knife
Cut you a slice of country life

If you want cheap food well here's the deal
Family farms are brought to heel
Hammer blows of size and scale
Foot and mouth the final nail
The coffin of our English dream
Lies out on the village green
While agri-barons C.A.P. in hand
Strip this green and pleasant land
Of meadow, woodland, hedgerow, pond
What remains gets built upon

No trains, jobs
No shops, no pubs

What went wrong
Country life
It's a little bit of country life

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I love That's Amore. Latin George made a pun out it by using this creature.
