hbg, I recall playing Silent Night by Gruber when I was a kid.

Loved the Vienna Boy's choir song as well. Max's Driving Me Crazy was great. Did'nt know Ernie, but he was great.

Hear are the lyrics to Driving me Crazy.

You, you're driving me crazy! What did I do? What
did I do? My tears for you make everything hazy,
clouding the skies of blue.

How true, were the
friends who were near me to cheer me Believe, me
knew, but you Were the one who would hurt me,
desert me When I needed you Ooh you,

you're
driving me crazy! What did I do to you

edgar, hurry back and I really enjoyed Mimi and Joan doing Morning.

Today is Rich Little's birthday and I remember him best for Rich Little's Christmas Carol.

Here's part of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLft4bu4XaI

He played every single character in that funny version.

W.C. Fields as Ebenezer Scrooge
Paul Lynde as Bob Cratchit
Johnny Carson as Fred
Laurel and Hardy as the two solicitors
Richard Nixon as Jacob Marley
Humphrey Bogart as The Ghost of Christmas Past
Groucho Marx as Fezziwig
James Stewart as Dick Wilkins
Peter Falk as Columbo as The Ghost of Christmas Present
Jean Stapleton as Edith Bunker as Mrs. Cratchit
Truman Capote as Tiny Tim
Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau as The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come
James Mason, George Burns and John Wayne as the three businessmen
Jack Benny as a boy

Heard a great radio programme yesterday on our BBC Radio 2, it was part of a series about Marvin Hamlish, and it spoke mainly about he Broadway musical A Chorus Line. Hamlish gave up a lucrative Hollywood career to become involved in the project, with stunning success.

Coincidentally on TV yesterday also was "The Way We Were" with Barbra Streisand and I wish I had made the time to watch it. Marvin Hamlish had a long association with the divine Barbra, being her musical director and pianist for years. He composed the music for that film, among others.

Welcome back, McTag and thanks for restoring our signal. I love Babs doing The Way We Were. When you get a chance, check out Rich Little's Christmas Carol.

Here's a song that is a cover of The Mammas and The Papas.

today is the birthday of Robert Goulet .
here he is with " if ever i would leave you " - from " Camelot " .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X2ZI6JxJvI

( a very fine voice ! )

Quote:
In 1959, Goulet was introduced to librettist Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe, who were having difficulty casting the role of Lancelot in their stage production Camelot. Lerner and Loewe, impressed by Goulet's talent, signed the virtual newcomer to play the part, opposite Richard Burton (King Arthur) and Julie Andrews (Queen Guenevere).

Camelot opened in Toronto in October 1960. It then played a four-week engagement in Boston, and finally opened on Broadway two months later. Goulet received favorable reviews, most notably for his show-stopping romantic ballad, "If Ever I Would Leave You" which would become his signature song.[7] After the run of Camelot, Goulet appeared on The Danny Thomas Show and The Ed Sullivan Show, which made him a household name among American audiences. On December 7, 1962, Goulet made a memorable appearance on The Jack Paar Show with Judy Garland to promote their animated film Gay Puree.[8] He also would win a Grammy Award as Best New Artist in 1962. In the western Big Valley he played a preacher named "Brother Love".

" look me in the Heart " - a great tune - performed by a FABulous lady :
Tina Turner - let's listen to her !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxnzienOOPI&feature=related

Quote:
Anna Mae Bullock (born November 26, 1939), better known by her stage name Tina Turner, is an American singer whose career has spanned more than half a century, earning her widespread recognition and numerous awards.[1][2] Turner started out her music career in the mid-1950s as a featured singer with Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm, first recording in 1958 under the name Little Ann with the song, "Box Top". Her introduction to the public as Tina Turner began in the early 1960s with Ike as a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue.[3] Success followed with a string of notable hits including "River Deep – Mountain High" (1966) and "Proud Mary" (1971).

( hard to believe , but it's her 73 (!) rd birthday today ! )

Welcome back to you as well, Barry. I have always like Rollin' on the River.

More synchronicity, because here are Mick and Tina doing a duet.

@Barry The Mod,
hey, Brit. Before I have to eat, another question. Did those crossed hands mean that you were going to learn to play the piano.

Poor Chet Baker and fantastic Mel.

Loved Mac's Jackie Wilson song but I remember him best for Higher and Higher.

Enjoyed your Bonnie Raitt song and both versions of The Willow Garden.

Also wonder if our cockney friend listened to On The Road to Mandalay by Rudyard Kipling. Love that one.

Laters, as you would say
