@edgarblythe,
Great one by Clyde McPhatter, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Treasure of Love reminded me of Gale Storm. Remember her?

Here's some info.

Gale Storm (April 5, 1922 - June 27, 2009) was an American actress and singer who starred in two popular television programs of the 1950s, My Little Margie and The Gale Storm Show. She was from Bloomington, Texas.

This is not the one I was looking for, but it's cute.

Oops, hbg, missed your song, but I remember: Whatever Lola Wants; Lola Gets.

Uh-Oh, hope our edgar is alright.

Going to say goodnight now with two songs.

First one for Noddy/Jill

I always look at the photo of ehBeth and Noddy plus Paul, Setanta, and BoGoWo.

Now, Jimmie Rodgers does Greensleeves.

That was the song that was played as the boat to find The Lost Colony approached the land.

Great having Canada and Ontario plus Wandel via Germany with us today. London as well.

From Letty with love to everyone, everywhere

Another sleepless night for me, yawl. Concerned about the kid in Orlando.

I guess no one liked my goodnight songs or Gale Storm.

hbg, Just found out that Horst was a great German band leader. Thanks for that song.

How about some Reba, but first some info on the lady.

Reba Nell McEntire is an American country music artist and actress. She began her career in the music industry as a high school student singing in the Kiowa High School band, on local radio shows with her siblings, and at rodeos.

Now The Lights went out in Georgia. Maybe that's why I couldn't sleep.

Reba will have a new TV series on network TV in a few days, letty. I like Gale Storm and the other music. I was watching football and the mentalist last night and too busy at that to spend much time on line. Not commenting does not always signal rejection. Wink

Gotta wait in for a repair man.The door entry system to the apartment block stopped working last Tuesday.I reported this and a guy turned up on Thursday but left shortly after he posted a note in the letter box saying "Arrived to fix the door entry system but couldn't raise any of the tenants because the door entry system isn't working." @Barry The Mod,
Rockpatel, Welcome to A2K and our radio. Don't quite understand what you mean.

edgar. Sorry that I over reacted. Fear is my enemy. As FDR noted "freedom from fear." Thanks for your comments once again.

Barry, The Town I Live In and Gotta Let You Go were great. Don't know them so thanks for the introduction. Sorry about your front door. I've been having problems all morning so I can identify with you.

Today is Elke Sommer's birthday, and what a delightful trio makes us aware of her.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar, and although I don't know Those Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That Old Gang of Mine, I truly enjoyed listening to it by The Four Aces.

Today is this movie legend's birthday, but first some info.

McCrea was born in South Pasadena, California, the son of Thomas McCrea, who was an executive with the L.A. Gas & Electric Company. As a boy, he had a paper route, and delivered the Los Angeles Times to Cecil B. DeMille and other people in the film industry. He also had the opportunity to watch D. W. Griffith filming Intolerance, and was an extra in a serial starring Ruth Roland.

I don't know if you or our listeners remember the book by Richard Connell, but it was called The Most Dangerous Game. synopisi:

The most dangerous game is not the Cape Buffalo--it is man. Then I found that he had starred in it way back when. Russell Hicks did a remake of it, but I need to check that out.

The tribute.

Bruce Springsteen - No Surrender.

Well, we busted out of class
Had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a 3-minute record, baby
Than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes
And follow your dreams down

Well, we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night
With a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Well, now young faces grow sad and old
And hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
Now I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home
Across the open yards
Well maybe we'll cut someplace of own
With these drums and these guitars

'Cause we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in the stormy night
With a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There's a war outside still raging
You say it ain't ours anymore to win
I want to sleep beneath
Peaceful skies in my lover's bed
With a wide open country in my eyes
And these romantic dreams in my head

Once we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in a stormy night
With a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh

@Barry The Mod,
Barry, you know that I love the Boss. Don't know that one by him. Thanks!

I especially enjoyed Toussaint, Bradfield and Grant doing Yes We Can. Wonder if the first performer is kin to this guy.

Toussaint Louverture. Which leads me to play this one.

I like it better by Fred, but I always like hearing a new approach.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment on Joel, edgar. Susan really sang that horse song well.

I didn't care for that rendition of I Left My Hat in Haiti either. Just wanted to hear a different version.

Speaking of horses, remember this one?
