Good morning from here in Florida, WA2K folks.

edgar, missed The Oak Ridge Boys doing Elvira. Love it. Also smiled at David Rose's The Stripper.

dj, Thanks for the song Guided by Voices. Don't know it, but once again, thanks for the introduction.

Hurry back, Barry. Listened to all your songs, but the two that I enjoyed the most were Ike Turner's Charlie Brown and Van McCoy's The Hustle. Loved dancing to that one.

Remember this kid? Today is his birthday.

Ralph Macchio did a great job with that one.

Here's an interesting collection, yawl.

@edgarblythe,
I understand why you wouldn't know them, edgar. Thanks for your comment on The Karate Kid.

Loved that version of King of Kings. Jeffrey Hunter did a great job.

Remember this one? Jesus Christ Super Star.

There was a movie of Jesus Christ Superstar, too, edgar.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. Ah, Johnny singing When Sunny Gets Blue. That's the last song that I heard my friend Bill (RIP) sing.

His widow called me to wish me a happy birthday

Here's the flip side of the man who wrote the song.

Scarlet ribbons is the first recording that gave Harry some real recognition, before his Banana Boat phase. It is on an album titled Belafonte, one of my all time favorite records.

Hamburger's Germany song reminded me of my late mother's favorite singer, Freddy Quinn. He became a big star when he released a German version of Dean Martin's "Memories Are Made of This":

Thanks for keeping us on the air, folks.

edgar, I appreciate your comments once again. Don't know My First Taste of Texas by Ed Bruce. Great one, and thanks for the memory. I love Deano's Return to Me.

Wandel/Goethe, Welcome back to you as well. That German version of Memories Are Made of this was Great.

More memories by The Lettermen.

@edgarblythe,
Time of Your Life by Paul Anka was great. I especially liked the visuals.

Another Remember by The Four Freshmen. The Lettermen and The Beach Boys were inspired by their marvelous harmony. They did most songs A capella and played their own instruments.

News for this evening.

The Walt Disney Company will purchase LucasFilm for $4.05 billion, the companies announced, which includes the Star Wars franchise. By 2015, the new joint company will produce the first Star Wars film since 2005's Revenge of the Sith, and plans to release a new Star Wars feature film every 2-3 years thereafter, Disney execs said during a Tuesday conference call.

Well, here's the theme from Star Wars, and we'll dedicate this to George ob

I sat with one of my grandsons and watched Star Wars so many times. I agree with those who find fault with portions of the saga, but it is so long, there were bound to be a few places it sags. Good music, letty.
