To me, many Johnny Horton records are as fresh as when he made them.

@edgarblythe,
Yes, they are, edgar. Devoted to You is a great one by those guys.

From the news desk:

CLEVELAND, OH -- Still rockin' at 86, music legend Chuck Berry promised a comeback Saturday with six new songs, some written 16 years ago.

"And as soon as I can get someone to guide me -- and I do know a little about the business -- I want to push them out," he told reporters at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, which honored him with an award and tribute concert. "I'm going to come back and push them out if you know what I mean, somehow."

Berry, a rock pioneer with early hits that included "Roll Over Beethoven," `'Sweet Little Sixteen" and "Johnny B. Goode," wouldn't tip his hand in detail about the new songs or when they might be released.

"They might be old, but they are the same type of music that I have been playing," he said.

Love this one by him.

I have a record of Chuck's original studio recordings. In my view, they represent rock n roll at its very best.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know The Drummer and the Cook by Harry, edgar, but it was a goodie. What a performer.

Today is this guy's birthday. First, some info.

Benjamin Chase "Ben" Harper (born 28 October 1969) is an American singer-songwriter, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Harper plays an eclectic mix of blues, folk, soul, reggae and rock music and is known for his guitar-playing skills, vocals, live performances and activism. Harper's fan base spans several continents. His albums have been commercially successful in North America, Europe and Oceania. Harper is a two-time Grammy Award winner as well, winning awards for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album, in 2005.

Now, the song.

@Barry The Mod,
Dear Barry, Audrey did such a great job doing Moon River. Gave me a few tears.

Today is Clio Laine's birthday and here is a lovely song by the lady.

She also did a funny version of Mr. Mozart's Turkey Trot. Different lyrics, however.

@Barry The Mod,
Thanks for the comment, Barry. Ah, "the eternal virgin". Don't know A Wonderful Guy by her, but she was good.

Going to say goodnight a bit early tonight as the kid from Orlando is here and I'm a bit tired myself.

Jimmie Rodgers and a lovely classical piece

Ontario was with us yesterday, and it's great to have Scotland with us again today. Of course, London is always great, Barry.

From Letty with love to everyone
