@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar, and good old Ernest doing I'm Walking the Floor Over You brought back some memories.

How about some Oriental music for the afternoon.

First, Frankie Laine, doing Rose. What a great voice he had.

Great one, by Phil Ochs, edgar. Had no idea that he took his own life.

Another great musician taken from us too soon.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Didn't know Rufus Wainwright, but I do know Leonard. You sent me searching again.

Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright (born July 22, 1973) is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter and composer. He has recorded seven albums of original music and numerous tracks on compilations and film soundtracks. He has also written a classical opera and set Shakespeare sonnets to music for a theater piece by Robert Wilson.

I had to seek out his Shakespeare stuff, but first the sonnet.
Sonnet 20

A woman’s face, with nature’s own hand painted,
Hast thou, the master-mistress of my passion;
A woman’s gentle heart, but not acquainted
With shifting change, as is false women’s fashion;
An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,
Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;
A man in hue, all hues in his controlling,
Which steals men’s eyes and women’s souls amazeth.
And for a woman wert thou first created,
Till nature as she wrought thee fell a-doting,
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
But since she pricked thee out for women’s pleasure,
Mine be thy love, and thy love’s use their treasure

Now the song.

Another mystery. We'll never know who "the bard" really was.

Suzanne Vega - Night Vision.

By day give thanks
By night beware
Half the world in sweetness
The other in fear

When the darkness takes you
With her hand across your face
Don't give in too quickly
Find the thing she's erased

Find the line, find the shape
Through the grain
Find the outline, things will
Tell you their name

The table. the guitar
The empty glass

All will blend together when
Daylight has passed

Find the line, find the shape
Through the grain
Find the outline, things will
Tell you their name

Now I watch you falling into sleep
Watch your fist curl against the sheet
Watch your lips fall open and your eyes dim
In blind faith

I would shelter you
Keep you in light
But I can only teach you
Night vision
Night vision
Night vision

Laters WA2K
Down and gone
Woosh

Trying 2 Learn, "the bard" refers to Shakespeare. Nice to see you back, and you did learn something, right? Razz

Welcome back, and hurry back, Barry. Bruce and Rosanne; Delbert and Suzanne were all good ones.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First, the Duke and Rabbit doing Missed the Saturday Dance as an instrumental and Nat doing the same one with lyrics.

So great to have "the dancing queen" with us today and our Cockney friend, Barry.

Hope Dublin, Scotland, and Ontario will be with us tomorrow. Perhaps even The Dixie queen. Nothing from our Prince, however

From Letty with love to all of you.
