edgar, Loved Gentleman Jim's and Patsy's Have You Ever Been Lonely.

Ah, hbg, What a great song to awaken to. Love Mungo Jerry's In the Summertime as well as Spanish Harlem by B.B. King

How about a great classic from which Eddie Fisher sang a popular song.

First, the classic.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comment. Ah, dear Marty. What a great song, but one I didn't know. Sounds as though he's singing the blues about that gal in white satin, and here's one to match.

HOP-along-CASSIDY was a longstanding series of : books , comics ,
radio and tv-shows , and movies .
HOP-along-CASSIDY was read and watched by zillions of boys ( perhaps even some girls ? ) .

let's listen to a short clip - and sing along ... ... ...

@hamburgboy,
Welcome back, hbg. My mom loved Hop Along. She called him "hoppy" cause he made her happy. No problemo, 'cause some songs are worth playing twice.

Here's one by Jim Croce that inspires the next song.

The Empire State Building is still the tallest one in New York. Been there.

Incidentally, when Fay Wray died at 96, the light of that building were shut off in her memory.

just wasted ten precious minutes of my time - listening to Operetta Music .
( it's probably not your idea of having fun this way )

i just leaned back in my laz-a-boy chair , turned the volume up , closed my eyes - and dreamt of being in VIENNA again .

the dream was a short one - and i'm back in eastern ontario again ! Shocked

@hamburgboy,
hbg, I enjoyed all of your music, and as you lie back in your lazy boy listen to Jim Croce and King Kong. Today is the birthday of Naomi Watts who made the last remake of that movie.

Here's one to match your drinking song.

Well I like the music today. And Hopalong Cassidy. He was my favorite cowboy star. I saw him in person along with Pinky Lee at the Fresno annual parade.
I saw all three King Kong movies. The first was best, hated the second, but enjoyed the last.
Mario's Student Prince music is always great.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks for your comments, and I love Charlie Rich's version of Old Man River. Yep, The original King Kong was the best. Jessica Lang's version was awful and Naomi Watt's was okay.

Is it true what they say about Dixie?

Al Jolson's gonna tell us.

@edgarblythe,
Love that's what I like about the South by Bob, edgar.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, some info on Bob.

James Robert Wills, better known as Bob Wills, was an American Western swing musician, songwriter, and bandleader. Considered by music authorities as the co-founder of Western swing, he was universally known as the King of Western Swing.

Love this one by him.

Although I've played this one before, allow me to do it again.

Good to have Ontario via Germany with us today. Hope all is well in Scotland, Dublin, and London.

From Letty with love to the world.
