I believe this song is Scottish. But it could be Turkish or Chinese.

@edgarblythe,
Wrong Ed, it's Russian and sung by Harry Belafontsky. A good song, Da!

Now this is Scottish, I think.

@edgarblythe,
Love The Ames Brothers' My Bonnie Lassie, edgar, and thanks again for your comment.

Up early this morning, and today is dear Otis Redding's birthday. First, his most famous song.

Now, a tribute to the man who left us too soon.

Don't know William Bell, but he is great.

@Letty,
Hello Miss Letty, great to see you back at the helm.
I know Thomas Kretschmann, good actor, although I've never seen that movie. I like Air Supply too.
Ed was spot on, Dionne got it just right. Oh and Ed, I loved The Ames Brothers.

Miss Letty, shhh, between meself & yourself, I think Ed's turning Scottish. Edgar McBlythe..... has a certain ring to it. Smile

That tribute to Otis was great, it's always nice to see a bunch of folks coming together and enjoying themselves. Not a bad singer eh.

@eurocelticyankee,
euro, I told McTag that he should become MacTag when I found out that MacBeth by Shakespeare was Scottish.

Loved both of your songs, buddy. Come on Over by The Prairie Dawgs was great as was The Doors , Love Street.

Here's another Prairie bunch, buddy.

@Letty,
Pure Prairie League are a good band, nice sound.
The name MacTag reminds me of a Scottish TV cop show called Taggart, I used to really like it but haven't watched it since Mark McManus who played the aforementioned central character Taggart died. I'm not sure if it's still going but it was one of the longest running cop shows on UK TV.
Taggart was a tough Glasgow detective, surly and I loved when he said 'It's murder', believe nobody says the word 'murder' better a Scot. Smile
Here's Mark McManus in a somewhat lighter mood.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks for the comment, euro. Wow! That's one I know and don't know why I know. Ah, yes, Queenie queen of them all. Thanks again for your info on Taggart. Oops, euro, missed Super Cop. Will check it out later.

Today is Henry Thomas' birthday, and he's remembered best for ET Phone Home, methinks.

Here are some movies clips, including ET.

Well, I have always loved the Scots, since as a kid seeing Walt Disney's Rob Roy. Not that I know more than superficial stuff about them.

(I read many years ago, there was at one time at least 50 groups touring as the Ink Spots. In those days nobody knew what the originals looked like.)

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comment. I didn't see the Disney version of Rob Roy, but I just discovered that the book was by Sir Walter Scott. Here's the trailer from the movie.

Interesting information about The Ink Spots, but I love the instrumental version of Memories of You.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Nana and Harry, edgar. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand one word of it.

Thinking of Schumann today. What a talent that man possessed.

Unfortunately, his talent was the cause of his demise.
