Believe it or not, this was a hit in Britain in 1961.

Zoot Money and the Big Roll Band

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxgVlcKgkCU

Big Time Operator- sing along

I started off, a newsboy on a paper
For a time I worked that elevator
But all the time I knew that later
I would be a higher rater
Finally, a big time operator

For a while I drove an excavator
Then I became a wine and brandy waiter
A builder, then a decorator
Later on, an estimator
I'm gonna be a big time operator

I took a job as an airline navigator
Then I became a crime investigator
For a time, a commentator
Then I was administrator
I'm gonna be a big time operator

Welcome back, Taggers. Wow! those two were golden oldies updated. Don't know Temperance nor Zoot, however. Thanks for the backward glance.

Isn't tonight the last of the Olympics? The news reads: Party, Party, Party.

The Who and The Spice Girls are suppose to perform, but couldn't find a decent video for either.

Here's a surprise, however. Tommy can you hear me?

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Love Last Train Home by that man, and thanks for the info. Don't know Pat, but he is great. Love his smooth jazz.

Here's one that I've been searching for ever since he died.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Donovan, edgar. Trying to figure out what that castle is in the background of Little Boy in Corduroy.

Today is Cecil B. DeMille 's birthday, and here is one of his greatest movies.

McTag. Absolutely. Love all those swing songs.

edgar, thanks again for your comments. It rather looked like a castle in Scotland.

Love Glen's American patrol. Another history mystery.

Well, The Duke says it, too. Had no idea that he played violin

@eurocelticyankee,
Goodnight, dear euro. Love Boots of Spanish Leather by the jester.

Time for me to say goodnight as well, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First an updated version of Glenn Miller's Moonlight Serenade.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN2un3lnqw0

Don't like that version as well, but it is different.

Now a classical piece.

So nice to have Canada, Dublin, and Scotland with us today. Hope London is okay.

Awakened by the cacophony of the frogs.

edgar, thanks for your comments and Talking New York by "the jester". Hurry back, Texas.

Ah, euro, you hurry back as well. Really liked Sweet Inspirations To Love Somebody.

Hey, Brit, I tried to find a proper tribute to the party, party, party time in London, but no luck. I know the Spice Girls and The Who did their thing.

Loved Muddy Old Water by Ray Davies. Waterloo Sunset has always been one of my favorites. I figured you partied with the ending of the Olympics, buddy.

From Barry's news desk.

'Happy and glorious' Olympics come to rocking end With a little British pomp and a lot of British pop. London brought the curtain down on a glorious Olympic Games on Sunday in a spectacular, technicolor pageant of landmarks, lightshows and lots of fun.

More synchronicity concerning New York, cause today is George Shearing's birthday. Saw him at the Embers when I was in New York. First, a tribute to that fantastic performer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAnDEBGgcn8&feature=related

Odd that he did Andy Russell's song. Love it, yawl.

Now, a tribute to another famous performer.
