@eurocelticyankee,
euro, That what stunningly beautiful. Love classical music and opera. Don't know the composer, but I shall certainly seek him out. Incidentally, thanks for your comments.

Here's an update of megaphone Rudy.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for the comment, edgar. I couldn't hear that one too well, but I got the general gist . I also listened to an alternate version of the one by Crosby Stills and Nash. You might want to check that one out. The visuals are beautiful and the lyrics are quite telling.

It's Robert Mitchum's birthday so here is a tribute to the man.

@Letty,
Robert Mitchum was a great actor, well remembered hear in Ireland for "Ryan's Daughter", although I don't believe he enjoyed his stay here as it apparently rained non stop during filming. Now there's a surprise. Nice tribute Miss Letty.

Good stuff from C,S & N and those crazy New Vaudeville guys. Razz

@eurocelticyankee,
I love the comments that you make here, euro. Thanks again. and that Working Class Hero was great. I have been searching for a long time to find out about John, and I did find this.

In December of 1975, Hit Parader magazine published an exclusive conversation between interviewer Lisa Robinson and John Lennon. Topics included The Beatles, Allen Klein (the group's controversial replacement for manager Brian Epstein), the recent separation of John and Yoko, and Lennon's pending deportation case with the US government.

At the time of this interview, John was fighting to remain in the United States. An immigration judge had found that Lennon could not claim permanent residence in the US (due to a British marijuana conviction in 1968) and authorized Lennon to leave voluntarily within 60 days of the March 1973 decision. Lennon appealed the decision to the Board of Immigration Appeals. In 1975 that appeal was still pending before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals in New York.

Not certain that the info is accurate, however.

Neil Sedaka supposedly did this was in response to that information.

Ah, I missed our Brit's contribution. Love Bob Marley's Get Up Stand Up, and that Jamaica National anthem was really good.

Sleep well, dear euro. I miss fishing, but Taj Mahal's Fishing Blues reminded me. Love it.

Saying goodnight with two instrumentals.

First, From India.

edgar, thanks again for your comments. The Gentleman is a Dope was funny by Jo.

Hey, Brit. Had no idea that Quincy could sing. Still not convinced that he can. Only heard him do jazz piano. That Secret Garden has interesting implications.

Two songs for the morning.

First, a tribute to Robert Browning by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Another John Lennon memory.

Now, a salute to a birthday man.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, don't know the man, so once again you sent me searching.

Gerald "Gerry" Rafferty was a Scottish singer-songwriter best known for his solo hits "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line", "Days Gone Down", "Night Owl", "Get It Right Next Time", and with the band Stealers Wheel, "Stuck in the Middle with You"

Really loved Baker Street by Gerry, and it reminded me of this Baker Street.

Don't think Sherlock would approve, however.

@Letty,
Hi Miss Letty,
I can't say I've seen that version of Holmes, I'm curious to know was it in English or sub-titled?.
I've also never seen Sophie's Choice, shame on me, beautiful music though.
Ed, love Baker Street by Gerry.
