What a great day was Wodin's Day on WA2K radio.

edgar, Loved Indiana Wants Me by Dean Taylor. Don't know it so thanks again for the introduction.

hbg, Welcome back. Blind Lemon's oldie Easy Rider was a goodie. Also love that Hungarian Army music.

Brit, I love The Lady is a Tramp. Why is Lady Ga Ga's hair purple?

Ah, edgar, the season of the rain is better than no rain at all, I guess.

Two songs for the morning here. First a tribute to a great poet. It's his birthday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sEtgPWpfHU

Now, a great pair of musical geniuses. It's Oscar's birthday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noxeiDipWlE&feature=fvwrel

One of my favorites from South Pacific.

From Thoreau: When he was ill, his aunt said: Henry, have you made your peace with god?

Henry's response: Why auntie. I didn't know that we had quarreled. That's a word you never hear anymore.

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. In spite of your rain by The Eurythrmics, there's no rain fade. Great song, and thanks for restoring our signal. To think that Florida got drenched and now it's "...how dry I am..."

Anyone want to get their picture on the cover of the Rolling Stones.

Here's a tribute to the guys.

Guess we need Reyn back in here. (Bob used to call him rain)

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar, and thanks for your comment.
Ah, the "sassy" Miss Sarah. Loved Broken Hearted Melody.

An interesting bit of news about "the jester". The owner of his original electric guitar is in dispute.

More synchronicity. Here he is doing Like a Rollin' Stone.

Dylan credits that song with the big breakthrough out of strictly folk music, but he had recorded Subteranean Homesick Blues and other electric songs already.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know that about Dylan, edgar. Thanks for the info.

Ah, "the king" singing What a Wonderful Life. Love that one, Texas.

Some news from the world of art.

PHILADELPHIA -- After more than three years of torn-up landscaping, yellow caution tape, convoluted entrance routes, vanished sculptures, and, lately, a building shut as tight as a limestone crypt, the Rodin Museum on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway is about to emerge as something both familiar and utterly startling.

I love many sculptures by him, but I guess this one is my favorite.

John Miles - When You Lose Someone So Young.

When you lose someone so young,
How do you start again?
You can't run and hide from the world outside
And you lock yourself in, wonder where to begin.
It multiplies the pain.

When you lose someone so young,
How do you start again?
As time goes by and tears run dry
And hope appears in place of fears,
It takes away the pain

You must walk right out in the sunshine,
Gotta try not to hide in the shade.
Shake yourself loose from the chip on your shoulder
And forget the price you paid.
I said "Put your grief behind you,
All the sad songs have been sung".
Yes, I know how it feels, it just don't seem real,
When you lose someone so young.

When you lose someone so young,
How do you start again?
You need friends at hand who can understand,
If you start to cry, they'll wipe the tears from your eye,
Will you ever be the same?

When you lose someone so young,
How do you start again?
Start life anew, stop feeling blue.
The world's standing still because it knows
That you will forget your tears and pain.

You gotta walk right out in the sunshine,
Gotta try not to hide in the shade.
Shake yourself, loose from the chip on your shoulder
And forget the price you paid.
I said "Put your grief behind you,
All the sad songs have been sung".
Well, I know how it feels, it just don't seem real
When you lose someone so young.

You must walk right out in the sunshine,
Gotta try not to hide in the shade.
Shake yourself loose from the chip on your shoulder,
And forget the price you paid.
I said "Put your grief behind you,
All the sad songs have been sung".
Yes, I know how it feels, it just don't seem real
When you lose someone so young.

Put your grief behind you,

@Barry The Mod,
Funny, Barry. Don't you agree with Descartes? I think, therefore I am.

You sent me searching again.

John Miles is an English rock music vocalist, songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player, best known for his 1976 Top 3 UK hit single, "Music".

When You Lose Someone So Young was great. The next time you talk to that lovely lady, tell her that Letty reminds her once again, that love is reflected in love.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a birthday man.

edgar should know this guy.

and another that I love.

I know that hbg and Reyn were here on Wednesday, but it's still good to have other countries with us.

Gabrielle Aplin - Home.

I'm a phoenix in the water,
A fish that's learnt to fly,
And I've always been a daughter,
But feathers are meant for the sky.
So I'm wishing, wishing further,
For the excitement to arrive,
It's just I'd rather be causing the chaos
Than living at the sharp end of this knife

With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still,
Take me away to some place real

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones.
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed.
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?
Home... home... home... home

So when I'm ready to be bolder,
And my cuts have healed with time,
Comfort will rest on my shoulder,
And I'll bury my future behind.
I'll always keep you with me,
You'll be always on my mind,
But there's a shining in the shadows
I'll never know unless I try

With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still,
Take me away to some place real

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones.
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed.
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?
Home... home... home... home
Home... home... home... home

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones.
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed.
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?
Home... home... home... home
Home... home... home... home

I read a good biography of Rodin, so long ago I forgot the author.
I know Van Cliburn. Went to a concert of his in 1964. At that event he played mostly a sort of progressive classical that I did not understand.

@Reyn,
Been away from a2k a bit. Good to see Reyn around. Found this interesting Bud Powell piece. By this point in his career, he'd lost some of his chops, but a diminished Bud Powell would surpass most Jazz pianists.

Good morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

Hurry back, Brit. Gabrielle's Home was fantastic, especially the lyrics.

edgar, Angel on My Shoulder I do know, but I couldn't believe that Leon Russell was playing piano on that one. Thanks again for your comment.

Reyn, Loved that cat video, and Gary Lewis and The Playboys' Everybody Loves a Clown was great. hmmm. did I get Leon mixed up. Need to listen again, I guess.

Honu, Welcome back. Glad to know that you are ok, buddy. Bud Powell is a great jazz pianist. I don't generally like bebop, but his "Bud on Bach" was more classical than bopish.

Two songs for the morning here.

First, inspired by Reyn's clown. Enrico again.

Now, one that I awakened to this morning as it was running through my heart like head.
