edgar, loved your goodnight song by Ricard Harris. You hurry back, Texas, and thanks for you comments.

Two songs for the morning here in Florida. First, a birthday guy.

edgar, I appreciate your comments and that recitation of Paul's The Sound of Silence was fantastic by Leonard.

Welcome back to you as well, Barry, and I really REALLY like Jobim's Wave

You missed The Lady in Red, however.

More synchronicity as Cold Case played this one last evening.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't realize that Leonard got bilked, edgar. Thanks for that information.

Love Harry's Sit Down. reminded me a bit of "...the people all said sit down, sit down you're rockin' the boat..." Remember that oldie?

"...Roll on thou dark and deep blue ocean, roll..."

Speaking of which, here's Billy.

Zé Ramalho-Sinônimos (live,as it should be)

Zé Ramalho (born José Ramalho Neto on October 3, 1949 - Brejo do Cruz - Paraiba, Brazil) is a Brazilian composer and performer. Zé Ramalho has collaborated with various major Brazilian musicians, including Vanusa, Geraldo Azevedo and Alceu Valença to name a few. Ze Ramalho is also the first cousin of Elba Ramalho, a well known Brazilian composer and performer.
As with many musicians back in his younger days, he was first influenced by rock and roll; however, at the age of 20, his music took a more Northeastern Brazilian approach. Zé Ramalho's lyrics however, are very influenced by the socio-economic difficulties faced by the average Brazilian.

Quanto o tempo o coração, leva pra saber

@Barry The Mod,
No problemo, Barry. Just glad that your eyes have cleared now.

Once again you sent me searching.

Great! Love the instrumentation:

the bongos,
Was that a zither?
Piccolo.

Let's test it with this man playing Mozart.

There's a festival here this weekend. I took a bunch of shots, but what stood out in my mind was the booth with the hawks and owl.

Check it out:

They're not terrific, but you get the idea. They wanted you to pay to have your picture taken with them, so I didn't want to be too cheeky. I had to delete a lot because folks were walking in front of me.

Awaiting Barry's observation about the instrumentation, and perhaps Billy Ocean doing Lord Byron.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Don McClean, edgar. Didn't know Castles in Air, however.

Ah, I do wish our friends here had commented on Billy Ocean and that Barry had identified the instrumentation of his song. Reyn, didn't you like LaPaloma?

Had a wonderful evening out and there was live music. They did Creedence Clearwater; Bad Moon Rising, and Take it Easy by The Eagles.

Too many to name.

When Barry mentioned loggin, I thought of this guy.

So, my goodnight song.

Congas - often played in Latin music bands.
Steel Guitar - A Country music favorite.
Flute - A Piccolo is much smaller.
If anyone knows better,I stand to be corrected.

Sitting here scritchin' the Fredster, listening to the rain that's been tipping down for hours.Feel sorry for the peeps sleeping rough on the streets of London town tonight.

The Almanac Singers - Talking Union.

The Almanac Singers were an American New York City-based folk music group, active between 1940 and 1943, founded by Millard Lampell, Lee Hays, Pete Seeger, and Woody Guthrie. As their name indicated, they specialized in topical songs, mostly songs advocating an anti-war, anti-racism and pro-union philosophy. They were part of the Popular Front, an alliance of liberals and leftists, including the Communist Party USA (whose slogan, under their leader Earl Browder, was "Communism is twentieth century Americanism"), who had vowed to put aside their differences in order to fight fascism and promote racial and religious inclusiveness and workers' rights. The Almanac Singers felt strongly that songs could help achieve these goals.

Laters WA2k
And it's STILL tipping down!

PS Mr Ocean's song was originally titled European Queen but the record company changed it.

When I don't comment it is not because I didn't care or didn't notice a person's contributions. I feel that comments ought to be more spontaneous than obligatory.
