@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. You sent me searching, of course.

Carl Lee Perkins was an American rockabilly musician who recorded most notably at Sun Records Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, beginning during 1954. His best known song is "Blue Suede Shoes".

Love Matchbox by the guy. Thanks for the introduction. Didn't Elvis do that one, too?

Here's a wonderful old one done by Joan and Pete.

Elvis did record Blue Suede Shoes. Carl wrote it. When Blue Suede Shoes was still a hit for Carl, he went in the Army, which broke the career momentum he was enjoying. The Beatles also recorded Matchbox.
Pete and Joan are great together.

@edgarblythe,
Yep, edgar, Jerry Lee and his crawdad song were very up beat. Love that song, 'cause I used to use crawdad tails to fish when I was quite small. Thanks again for your comment.

Here's Sachmo and "the crooner" to sing about more fish.

Boy, do I miss surf fishing.

One of the stations my mother listened to occasionally played that same version of Gone Fishin. Here is another fishin song that was played often on a local Houston station not so many years back

@edgarblythe,
Finally, I've gotten everything together in case of a tornado, edgar.

Thanks for your comment, and I really enjoyed Louis Jordan's Saturday Night Fish Fry.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a classic and a repeat of Johnny.

First the classic.

Now Johnny's repeat.

Thanks for keeping us on the air, Texas. Wonder where our other countries are?

Remember, The Open Window is about a lie that laughed.

Rain fade? I was a bit concerned about possible tornadoes so I remained up most of the night.

Hurry back, edgar and Barry. Loved When My Sugar Walks Down the Street by Mr. Cooper.

Barry, Scat, cat! Dee Dee wasn't too bad on that one. Bird Land doesn't like that, but we all have vatious tastes in music.

Two songs for the noon time here.

First, it's Pearl Buck's natal day, so here is a tribute to her.

Chris Isaak is fifty six today, so here is a great song by the man.

I knew Pearl Buck's name when I was a kid, long before I knew why I knew. Razz
I know Isaac, too.

@edgarblythe,
There are many things that I know and don't know why I know them, edgar.

I read The Good Earth and don't recall one thing about it. That's one reason that I played that tribute.

I know I'm an Old Cowhand, too, Texas. I think that gal had it right. Heard it on the radio including WA2K.

and a great one done in ragtime.
