edgar, as you know I love Perry. Don't Let the Stars Get in your Eyes was a good one; thanks again for your comments.

Sleep well, dear Barry. Didn't know one of your songs.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, one that George Shearing did but by a lady with whom I am not familiar

First, some info.

Born in Philadelphia, Nicole was raised in the arts haven of Bucks County. After graduating from the University of Miami, Nicole performed throughout Miami singing pop, soul and original music, winning local awards and lending her voice to recordings. In 2004, after falling in love with the melodies, lyrics and freedom of jazz, Nicole released her solo debut CD “The Nearness of You” to critical acclaim. In the U.S., Nicole received rave reviews and airplay on national jazz radio, including XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. In Japan, after climbing to #2 on HMV Japan Jazz Charts, and staying in the TOP 10 for three months HMV Japan named Nicole “Best New Jazz Artist of 2004.” Her follow-up CD, “Teach Me Tonight with the Eddie Higgins Trio” reached #1 at HMV Japan, and earned her their honor of “Best Vocal Jazz Album of 2005.

Now, the song.

@Barry The Mod,
If I was a scammer with the ability to hijack the Just Giving website and redirect all funds to myself... I'd be a very good one! Ha ha!

wandel, welcome back to you as well. I saw that about Johnny and his erstwhile girlfriend. Didn't know her, but As Tears Go By was great.

Johnny Depp is also redoing Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie, but he is the star and the ranger plays second fiddle.

Two songs for the early morning here.

First, more jazz news.

NEW YORK — Tenor sax legend Sonny Rollins was a triple winner Wednesday at the annual Jazz Awards, garnering musician of the year honors for the second straight year.

Here are three great songs by the man with lyrics to the first one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4AEeWWdk-c&feature=fvwrel

This love of mine, goes on and on
Though life is empty, since you have gone
You're always on my mind, though out of sight
It's lonesome through the day and all the night

I cry my heart my out, it's bound to break
Since nothin' matters, then let it break
I ask the sun and the moon, the stars that shine
What's to become of it, this love of mine?

Now, one that I really enjoyed. Love the mix here on WA2K radio.

@wandeljw,
She is cute, wandel, and I had forgotten Walk on the Wild Side.

Here's Benny Goodman doing Running Wild. I think most of us know that he plays great classical music as well.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Brit. Thanks for Joe Le Taxi by Vanessa. Boy do I remember that movie, Sweeney Todd. Didn't some kid kill him at the end? Need to check that out.

Johnny has done some good stuff and some bad stuff, but here is a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, that cat must have helped you get it altogether, edgar.

Didn't know that one by The Man in Black. When the water recedes, there's a pile of mud. Just ask Ray.

@edgarblythe,
I thought you were going to play the Sheik of Araby, edgar. That was a great oldie.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, a wonderful tide song with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsZfBiNDAEE&feature=related

First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more

So I rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide
With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide

At last we're face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I can feel
You are love, you are real
Really mine

In the rain, in the dark, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I'm at peace in the web
Of your arms.

Now, Nat.
