It's high noon here, yawl, and I have my days and nights mixed up again.

hbg, I loved all of your songs. Had forgotten about stringbean so I checked him out and found that he had been murdered for his money that he had stashed.

Also enjoyed that jazz When the Saints Go Marching In.

My favorites, were by Hank Snow, "the singing ranger". First time I ever heard him was when his song, I've Been Everywhere, was used to promote a commercial about traveling.

Edgar, hurry back and thanks for all the comments you make on our radio. Loved Ray Price's song.

Hey, Brit, Harry's Taxi was great. Had no idea that he had been in a car crash. The reason that he died was the result of a heart attack. RIP, Harry.

Naturally, I enjoyed the Paul McCartney performance, and here is one to match.

Hope that I didn't miss anyone. Still a bit groggy.

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar. That Misirlu by Connie was fabulous, and thanks again for your comment.

Just found out that the song's title was Greek.

Bet you know this guy, Texas, and today is his birthday. First, some info.

Blake Tollison Shelton (born June 18, 1976) is an American country music artist. In 2001, he made his debut with the single "Austin". Released as the lead-off single from his self-titled debut album, "Austin" went on to spend five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. This song was the first single from his gold-certified debut album, which also produced two more Top 20 hits. Although the album was released on Giant Records Nashville, Shelton was transferred to Warner Bros. Records Nashville after Giant closed in late 2001.

Here's Austin.

Phil Ochs

@edgarblythe,
That interpretation of that song is amazing. When I hear him sing that song, I really relate to the meaning ... the pain. When Joan Baez sings it, so wonderfully, so lyrically... I don't relate to the words but instead to the prettiness of her voice.

At this point this recording displays his voice was great sounding, too. I know later in his career (late '60s) he was tortured as a political prisoner (in Africa) and afterwards his voice suffered. Even later, he also sadly had become mentally ill and suffered psychological damage (extraordinarily bipolar) and as a performer his career halted.

Well, I guess our edgar didn't know Blake Shelton.

I do know Phil Ochs, however.

Welcome back Ragman/Russ.

You sent me searching and I found out that Phil was a protester. Here are two Chicago songs. Correct me if I am mistaken.

First, the Chicago protest.

Now, one of my favorites by the group.

I am pretty certain Phil was among the Yippies in Chicago. The Yippies are noted for trying to get a real pig nominated to run. Some of his best music came out of the Chicago experience.

I never heard of Blake Shelton, but I never listen to the new music on country satations. He's not a bad artist.

One of my sisters in law threw away her record collection some years back. I took them and inherited a great stack of Chicago albums. They are a great group, with a wide ranging bunch of music.
