Hey, Brit, Love Clint Eastwood. He did a lot of goodies. I Talk to the Trees was one that I don't know. Saw Clint in almost all of those shows and movies.

Yep, edgar, I recall Paint Your Wagon, too. My word, Texas, Jerry Lee doing Frankie Laine? That lucky old Sun is a good one by him.

Well, we invited BBC radio to our radio and they accepted.

Today is this guy's birthday. It's a mite long, but I'm still listening.

Wonder if Clint saw those high flying birds in his trees?

Love Personality by those two, edgar. Also enjoyed Tennessee Stud by Doc Watson. I saw where he was very ill.

WARSAW, Poland -- A Polish opera house has performed Mozart's Requiem - a funeral piece - in front of the Culture Ministry in Warsaw to protest cuts to its budget.

The Chamber Opera's orchestra, choir and soloists performed Tuesday to the hearty applause of hundreds of people. A large banner saying, "Minister, Only You Can Save the Chamber Opera," hung above the artists.

They handed a ministry official a letter signed by some 20,000 people asking Culture Minister Bogdan Zdrojewski to secure funds for the opera. Otherwise, they say, it will have to close in the summer.

and for all of us who have lost loved ones.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, I think Steve Martin's Orange Blossom Special and King Tut are hilarious. What a funny guy was he.

hbg, I'm with you on Melissa; not my cup of tea. Loved every one of those classic pieces, especially Grenada.

Thinking of Warsaw this morning, so let's give it a listen.

edgar, I like The Dubliners version of Molly Malone better.

Hey, Brit. Wasn's Cab fabulous with the original Minnie the Moocher? Love it.

Cab did this one as well, but here it is by Van the Man.

There are various interpretations of that song and many people did it.

I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth,
And laid them away in a box of gold;
Where long will cling the lips of the moth,
I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth;
I hide no hate; I am not even wroth
Who found the earth's breath so keen and cold;
I have wrapped my dreams in a silken cloth,
And laid them away in a box of gold.
--Countee Cullen

Today is the anniversary of the birth of Harlem Renaissance poet Countee Cullen (born today in 1903; d.1946).

I first came on these words listening to Joan Baez, on her album, Baptism. But I had forgotten the source until this reminder came along.

Have a wonderful time, Brit, and we all know Rolf Harris and his kangaroos, etc.

edgar, as you know I truly enjoy Harry and that song was a great one by him

Also know that marvelous poet Countee Cullen. Loved that poem by him.

Going to say good night with two songs. A serious one and a funny one.

Today is the birthday of Peter Carl Faberge. This egg went for around thirty million dollars.

http://lh3.google.ca/abramsv/R8d7ZgVx-vI/AAAAAAAAJqg/bzFCX6yjeFo/1004wer.jpg

First the serious song.

The Tsars of Russian owned several of those jeweled eggs.

Now, the funny version of an egg and a chicken.

Hope euroGeorge is alright. So nice to have Ontario and London with us today.

From Letty with love and a smile
