The British-style brass band has caught on in Norway in a big way. They've got more brass players than fir trees over there.

Here's Eikanger-Bjorsvik, who we had the privilege of seeing in the flesh, during their tour to you-know-where.

Good morning all. Still trying to get someone to fix my sprinkler system.

edgar, Come to Me by Johnny was excellent.

Nah, Brit. I haven't worn that coat since I've been here. Love Black Gold, buddy and Donna singing Let it Be Me reminded me of yitwail saying "...the let it be..." was like Lettybee. Love the memories. Also enjoyed Jake Bugg and you hurry back, London.

Welcome back, McTag. Sing, Sing, Sing I know but not the Siddis Brass. Never hear about Norway that I don't think of The Fab Four's Norwegian Wood.

We'll begin with a reminder to McTag about Scotland's Burning as a round.

They add London in there as well.

A birthday man that I adore. He broke all the rules just like Mel Brooks.

@edgarblythe,
Jerry is still with us, edgar, and he did Al's song beautifully. His telethon, however, is defunct and Jerry's kids no longer helped.

Thinking of McTag's Norway and decided to play this one by the fab four.

@edgarblythe,
I still buy everything that Jimmy Dean makes, edgar, and thanks for your comment.

I know that Spike Jones did this one, but I discovered a new one by The Milo Twins. Don't know them and can't find out much info either.

To match Jimmy.

This kind of music makes me recall artists I heard in childhood, such as Grandpa Jones and this song by Little Jimmy Dickins

Hey, Brit, Pass the Peas was cool. Ah, soul food. Love it.

edgar, I just saw that Little Jimmie did May the Bird of Paradise Fly up Your Nose. Hilarious, Texas. Raggedy Ann was so tender, however.

I remember this one best by The Mills Brothers, but the message is still the same. YUM!

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. You sent me searching again. (no, not in the pantry)

Curtis Ousley (February 7, 1934 – August 13, 1971), who performed under the stage name King Curtis, was an American saxophone virtuoso known for rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, funk and soul jazz. He was adopted, alongside with his adopted sister, Josephine Ousley Allen. They both grew up in Texas, together. Variously a bandleader, band member, and session musician, he was also a musical director and record producer. Adept at tenor, alto, and soprano saxophone, he was best known for his distinctive riffs and solos such as on "Yakety Yak", which later became the inspiration for Boots Randolph's "Yakety Sax" and his own "Memphis Soul Stew"

Soul Stew is great, London, and speaking of outstanding, how about Dame Shirley and the blues boys.

Brit, I love that Irish violin by The Hot Club. Stardust was really good and we know that Seamus is really pronounced Shamus in Dublin just as Shawn is Sean in England. Hope euroGeorge is well and happy. Thanks for that version, London.

edgar, I don't know Jack Scott, but My True Love was great. Thanks for the introduction, Texas.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First, a poem set to music . Here's a bit about the poet.

Alan Alexander Milne was an English author, best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various children's poems.

Now Christopher Robin.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vz-yjWwgnM

Here's some info on the vocalist.

Helen Francesca Traubel (June 16, 1899 – July 28, 1972) was an American opera and concert singer. A dramatic soprano, she was best known for her Wagnerian roles, especially those of Brünnhilde and Isolde. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, she began her career as a concert singer and went on to sing at the Metropolitan Opera from 1937 to 1953. Starting in the 1950s, she also developed a career as a nightclub and cabaret singer as well as appearing in television, films and musical theatre. Traubel spent her later years in Santa Monica, California, where she died at the age of 73.

Today is Peggy Lee's birthday, and this is my favorite one by her.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEgW6gGvGgQ

What I really enjoy is the way she changes keys at the end.

Great to have London and Scotland with us today. Hope hbg and euroGeorge will join us later.

From Letty with love and thinking of all the veterans and those who have given their lives for the country.
