You're right, edgar. Love that one by Jackie Wilson. Higher and Higher is one of my favorites by Jackie.

From Jackie Wilson to Wilson Pickett.

Hey, Brit. Don't know Good Intentions, but they were great. Can't believe that I recognized the auto harp, so I sought this one out.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euroGeorge. Thanks for the comment. We dedicated a song to you Sunday evening called The Rose of Tralee. Love the Pogues' Dirty Old Town.
I've done this one before, but it's the original before Simon and Garfunkel did it.

I only played Condor Pasa again because I realized it was the original, edgar. Thanks again for your comments.

Don't know Tell Old Bill by the Kingston Trio, but I have always enjoyed them.

How about some Commodores.

'Ring of Fire' Solar Eclipse Occurs May 20

http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/508898main_wide_corona_eclipse_ti3.jpg

"Skywatchers in East Asia and the western United States should circle Sunday (May 20) on their calendars. That's when a solar eclipse will block out most of the sun, leaving a spectacular "ring of fire" shining in the sky for observers located along the eclipse's path.

The event is what's known as an annular solar eclipse — from the Latin "annulus," meaning "little ring" — and its full glory should be visible from much of Asia, the Pacific region and some of western North America, weather permitting. At its peak, the eclipse will block about 94 percent of the sun's light.

Other parts of the United States and Canada will still see a partial solar eclipse, without being treated to the ring of fire effect, though the East Coast will miss the event since the sun will have set before it begins. The eclipse will occur in the late afternoon or early evening of May 20 throughout North America, and May 21 for observers in Asia."

I saw one of these in London about 15 years ago.SPECTACULAR !!!

@Barry The Mod,
Thanks for your comment, Brit. Wow! Fantastic news, and I love Bob Marley's Turn Your Lights Down Low.

A bit concerned about my daughter as she is caught in ferocious weather in North Carolina.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First, another eclipse.

New Astronaut Crew Launching to Space Station Tonight
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/revin-padalka-acaba-soyuz.jpg

Three astronauts are finally ready to blast off toward the International Space Station tonight (May 14), after weeks of delay caused during testing of their Russian-built space capsule.

NASA astronaut Joe Acaba and Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin are slated to lift off from Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome tonight at 11:01 p.m. EDT (0301 GMT Tuesday). They'll ride a Soyuz spaceship into orbit, ultimately berthing with the station early Thursday morning (May 17), NASA officials said.

Acaba, Padalka and Revin were originally scheduled to launch on March 29, but a botched pressure test Shocked cracked their Soyuz crew capsule. The flight was pushed back by a month and a half to allow enough time for Russian space contractor RSC Energia to ready a new capsule for service.

Once aboard the space station, the three spaceflyers will bring the orbiting lab back to its full complement of six occupants. Their fellow Expedition 31 crewmembers — NASA's Don Pettit, Dutchman Andre Kuipers and cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko — have had the station to themselves since April 27.

When driving on Sunday, I heard on the radio (classical music station) some music which I thought was really lush. I listened for the end, and it was John Williams' music for the film Warhorse.

I wonder if your listeners would like it too.

Wow! Well, Brit, you surprised us with those astronauts. Had no idea they were launching again. Loved Andian's Promises. Didn't know it so thanks for the introduction. Sleep well, dear friend.

hbg, I really like Trini Lopez's The Lemon Tree. Had no idea that he also did If I Had a Hammer. Thanks, Ontario.

McTag, I love that theme from the War Horse by John Williams. I missed my opportunity to see it, unfortunately.

Today is James Mason's birthday, and I remember him best as Captain Nemo in 20 thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

First, a tribute to him, then a memorable song by Kirk Douglas who is still with us.

Now Kirk who was in that same movie.

What can I say....except ... ahem..but... is it hot in here? This is the torchiest torch song and singer and a treat for the eyes (25 yrs later, she's still off-the-chart). The musicians and the arrangement is/are the tastiest I've heard.

Oh yeah! You have to include this song, too. Love the sax ..love it!

euro, Welcome back and thanks again for your comment. You sent me searching once again, Irish.

The Style Council were an English band, formed in 1983 by the ex-The Jam singer and guitarist Paul Weller, with keyboardist Mick Talbot. The permanent line-up grew to include drummer Steve White and Weller's then-wife, vocalist Dee C. Lee. Other artists such as Tracie Young and Tracey Thorn (Everything but the Girl) also collaborated with the group. As with Weller's previous band, most of this London based outfit's hits were in their homeland. although the band did score six top 40 hits in Australia, and seven top 40 hits in New Zealand.

You're the Best thing was great, buddy, and thanks for the introduction.

Hey, Ragman/Russ.

another search.

Helen Folasade Adu OBE (born 16 January 1959; better known as Sade), is a British singer-songwriter, composer, and record producer. She first achieved success in the 1980s as the frontwoman and lead vocalist of the Brit and Grammy Award winning English group Sade.

I can understand why you like the lady. No Ordinary Love and Smooth Operator were really good ones.

Before I came into the studio, I was out on my lawn doing a rain dance. We really need it here. I called on these guys to help.

Hey, Brit. Perhaps I can send you these flippers and you can start a show of your own.

I recall Angela's Ashes, buddy. A sad presentation, but thanks for the memory.

How about a song to match those bottle nose dolphins.

Almost played the LSO version of the movie, but it was too lengthy.

So, it's a soggy day in London town, right?

Carrie saw War Horse, and she told me the same thing.
