@Barry The Mod,
Doris Troy is one that I don't know, Brit, and once again you sent me searching.

She was born as Doris Elaine Higginsen. in The Bronx, the daughter of a Barbadian Pentecostal minister. She later took her grandmother's name and grew up as Doris Payne. Her parents disapproved of "subversive" forms of music like rhythm & blues, so she cut her teeth singing in her father's choir. She was working as an usherette at the Apollo where she was discovered by James Brown.

Just One Look was a good one.

How about an Irish song now.

Don't forget to check out Homer and Jethro's We Didn't Sink the Bismark.

I'm not au fait with Homer and Jethro Ms PD but that was a funny song.It's a wonder that they didn't get a tap on the shoulder from one of McCarthy's cronies.
Here's a track from J.B. live at The Apollo....

edgar, thanks again for your comment and I love Vaughn's Racing with The Moon.

hbg, glad all is well in Ontario, and although I don't know Don Messer, both songs were great, especially the second one with the bango.

More synchronicity. I ended my signature last evening by adding "with a song in my heart".

Found this one by Mario and remembering Fred Astaire as well. Today is Fred'sbirthday.

alex, welcome back, and you sent me searching.

Wouter "Wally" De Backer (born 21 May 1980), also known professionally by his stage name Gotye (pronounced /ˈɡɒti.eɪ/), is a Belgian-Australian multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter. His voice has been compared to Sting, Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel

Someone That I used to know was a great song and he has an unusual voice, buddy. Thanks for the introduction.

edgar, Thanks again for your comments, and you hurry back. I had forgotten about Janis Ian. Fabulous one by the lady and the visuals were perfect.

Welcome back to you as well, euro. Great one by Fleetwood Mac. Mystified brought back some memories.

Another birthday man.

Prince Charles reads the BBC Scotland weather forecast.

Prince Charles had a go at reading the weather during a tour of BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay headquarters.
He and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, visited the broadcaster as a part of their annual Holyrood Week.
BBC newsreader Sally Magnusson handed over to Prince Charles, who read his version of Reporting Scotland's lunchtime weather.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Brit. Quite a surprise to see the prince doing a weather forecast, and Supertramp doing It's Raining Again was good but a wee bit sad.

How about a bit of Rod McKuen. Strange, because I never used to like the man, but things do change.

@eurocelticyankee,
Ah, euro, it's always good to see you here. Thanks for your comment, Irish.

Love Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out of, but you sent me searching once again.

U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have maintained a sound built on melodic instrumentals, highlighted by The Edge's timbrally varied guitar sounds and Bono's expressive vocals. Their lyrics, often embellished with spiritual imagery, focus on personal themes and sociopolitical concerns.

Your moment reminded me of a magic moment.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comment, and I like that one by Donovan, but don't quite understand Jersey Thursday. "...a tiny piece of colored glass.." Does that have a reference to something?

Somehow, I am thinking of this ship today.
