Good Mozart - euro and barry - good ones. Tribute to Davy's 'Caoineadh Cú Chulainn' was particularly good.

Hey, Irish. You sent me searching again. Thanks for your comments.

"Tarzan Boy" is the title of a song recorded by Italian-based act Baltimora. It was the group's debut single, released in April 1985, from its first album Living in the Background, on which it features as first track. The song was re-recorded in 1993 and was covered by several artists throughout the years.

Davy Spillane (born 1959) is a songwriter and a player of uilleann pipes and low whistle.

Davy was born in Dublin in 1959 . At the age of 12 he started playing the uilleann pipes. His father encouraged him and inspired him with his love of all music genres. For the next three years he played at sessions and met many prominent Irish musicians At the age of 16 he played in Ireland, Britain and Europe. In 1978 he began to write his own music. He starred as a gypsy in Joe Comerford's 1981 film Traveller.

Love both of those songs, and thanks for the introduction.

Brit, I remember Grace Jones in Conan the Barbarian. Funny that she should do La Vie en Rose.(like it better by Edith Piaf)

edgar, Thanks for your comments as well. Robert Koch's Follow Birds was odd, to say the least.

How about some Schumann. Love this man and he had so many problems.

Quote:
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (born 28 May 1925 in Berlin) is a retired German lyric baritone and conductor of classical music, one of the most famous lieder (art song) performers of the post-war period and "one of the supreme vocal artists of the 20th century".[1] Fischer-Dieskau was ranked the second greatest singer of the century (after Jussi Björling) by Classic CD (United Kingdom) "Top Singers of the Century" Critics' Poll (June 1999).

The French dubbed him "Le miracle Fischer-Dieskau" and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf called him "a born god who has it all."[2] At his peak, he was greatly admired for his interpretive insights and exceptional control of his beautiful voice. Fischer-Dieskau has also performed and recorded a great many operatic roles. He is the most recorded singer of all time.[3] He dominated both the opera and concert platform for over thirty years.[4]

Wonderful music played on WA2K last evening and today. Wish I could acknowledge each one, but I'm having a few problems.

For McTag.

Baltimora were an Italian New Wave dance outfit active in the mid to late 1980s. The group comprised Jimmy McShane (frontman/vocals), Maurizio Bassi (keyboards, vocals), Giorgio Cocilovo (lead guitar), Claudio Bazzari (rhythm guitar), Pier Michelatti (bass guitar) and Gabriele Melotti (drums). They are best known for their 1985 hit single "Tarzan Boy".

Hope I didn't repeat myself, Scot.

While I am able, one birthday man and a song my daughter played perfectly on piano before we went out to eat last evening.

First, this classical composer whose birthday is today.

Now, another classic.

Great to have so many countries represented here today.

My way of acknowledge is to vote each vote each contributor up.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, have you ever heard of a person stuttering when they write? I noticed that I did.

Ah, you know how I love Little Richard, and here's a Jenny to match.

Finally got to watch the movie again, and it's simple message was that she was a ghost inspiring him to continue his painting.

When I type I miss many letters and hit wrong keys as a matter of course. I have to clean up every sentence I write, generally.

@edgarblythe,
Well, Texas, we'll have to have a talk with our editor to correct those mistakes we all make on our transcripts.

I know that song, Mr. Paganini, but the only thing that I recall about Martha Raye is that my older sister told me they named a collie after her.

Today is Gary Cooper's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

I recall that he and Earnest Hemingway were friends, and he said something like, "I'll get to the barn before you."
