Serenade is a good song to close with, letty. I like the music played tonight. Particularly Woody Guthrie.

Ah, the moon with its halo awakened me again. I didn't exactly dance in the moonlight, but I did have a strong urge to do so.

edgar, thanks again for your comment and "the jester's" I Went to See the Gypsy" was excellent. Didn't know that one by him, however.

hbg, Really enjoyed Blind Willy and his blues guitar doing Lord, Send Me an Angel. Also Bell Island, Canada. I wanted to do this one by one of your guys, Oscar Peterson, but thought we might need someone to sing it. This is one of Doris' better ones, and since it's Andre Previn's birthday, let's listen to some lovely jazz for the early morning here.

Oops, I had Andre a month ahead of his birthday, but it seems that hbg's birthday IS today.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, Irish, and I notice that you have bon mot yourself.

You sent me searching, once again.

Sol Seppy is a British singer-songwriter and producer. Her real name is Sophie Michalitsianos, and she contributed to two albums of American indie rock band Sparklehorse3 Her solo debut, The Bells of 1 2, was released by Grönland Records in 2006. She is perhaps best known in the UK for the song Enter One which was used at the end of a tragic episode of BBC Three sitcom Ideal.

That was a beautiful song by the lady, and I especially liked the visuals. Looks as though there were pictures of war there but captivating animal scenes as well.

There's no cure either for Letty's captivation for Rudolph Valentino. Today is his birthday.

I became enthralled with the man when this guy did a movie of his life.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back to you as well, Brit. Love that K,D, and L song. I'm Going Back was great. Don't know that delightful trio, so thanks for the introduction.

Another birthday man. My favorite was Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

George Clooney was in Houston this past week. I like the activist in him better than most of his movies.

@edgarblythe,
Love Tender Trap by "old blue eyes", edgar.

I think that I announced some time back on WA2K that he was arrested for his activism and played Man of Constant Sorrow.

Two birthdays for today.

First, Bob Seger.

Now, one of the most powerful poems that I have ever read.

Randall Jarrell
The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

@Walter Hinteler,
Welcome back, Walter. Good to have you in our studio again.

Great one for the Hamburg man.

Today is Freud's birthday and he was Austrian, so we'll do this one for hbg, too.

Good music for hbg's birthday. Now I have to go and ruin it all by playing Das Beer Boot. Happy birthday, hbg. (no offense intended)

@edgarblythe,
That was funny, edgar. hbg, has a good sense of humour, methinks

One of my favorite classical pieces and I just found out that he was half German and half Austrian.
