Hurry back, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Hey, Brit. You hurry back as well. Loved CBS trumpeteers' Milky White Way. Funny about your Phil.

hbg, I enjoyed all of your tangos and boleros, Ontario.

Ragman, Welcome back to you as well, and that Pavane was beautiful.

Thinking of Bud as today is his birthday. Here are The Letterman (inspired by the Four Freshmen) with one that he and I both listened to so long ago.

@eurocelticyankee,
Hey, euro. Don't know Renaissance's Northern Lights. Fantastic, Irish. Thanks for the introduction.

Today is Mary Hopkins' birthday, so let's hear a great one by the lady.

Remember her best for Goodbye as that is the first one I learned to play on the tenor ukelele. Razz

@Letty,
Hi Miss Letty, the 'Streets of London' is a great song. I never heard Mary Hopkin sing it before, wonderful. Mary is best known for 'Those were the days ', another great song. Shall we.... why not.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks euroGeorge for your comment. I love Those Were the Days, buddy.

Here's the one that I played on the tenor ukelele, and sang. Couldn't learn to play guitar because of the steel strings, so I had to go with the plastic.

euro, Thanks for your comment and Talking Heads' This Must be the Place was great. I always liked to refer to hinge and rock as the "talking heads".

edgar, welcome back, and Waterloo by Stonewall was marvelous. Thanks for your comment as well.

Here are two songs for the afternoon.

First, one to match our Irishman's

Goodnight, dear Barry and euro.

Thanks for your comments, Irish, and I know Kay Starr's Wheel of Fortune.

Thanks for the introduction to Fade to Gray as it was enticing and different.

Barry, Kate's cover of Nina Simone's song was great as was Tina Louise song. Never see her that I don't think of Mac11. <sigh>

Saying goodnight with a couple of wheels.

good evening letty and all listeners !
today is the birthday of Carl Michael Ziehrer - he was and is a very well known viennese composer .
here is his Fan Polonaise - probably taped in the vienna royal palace .

Quote:
Karl Michael Ziehrer (also spelled as Carl Michael Ziehrer) (May 2, 1843 - November 14, 1922)[1] was an Austrian composer. In his lifetime, he was one of the fiercest rivals of the Strauss family; most notably Johann Strauss II[2] and Eduard Strauss.

hbg, That Polonaise was a great march. Loved it! Just a Closer Walk with Thee was one that I have always loved as did my mom. Sing Miller's Oh How I Miss you Tonight, was one that I do know. Thanks, Ontario.

Welcome back, Irish, and The Furey's Grand Affair and The Old Man were so nice.

edgar, glad that you are alright, and hurry back.

My daughter is here, and I am happy that all is well with her as she drove most of the night to get here.

Two songs for the late morning here.

First, a birthday guy.

Now, another by The Lettermen.

Hope that I didn't miss anyone's contribution.
