edgar, thanks again for your comments and I really like Shirley and Lee doing Let the Good times roll.

Goodnight, dear hbg, and Ella and Oscar's Mellow Tones was soothing.

Welcome back, Irish, and that was a great one by Joy and Ian.

Two songs for the early morning hear in our Florida studio.

First, Ella reflecting my mood.

Now, a birthday man.

First, some info.

I didn't know In a sentimental mood.
There are some local channels that show some of the kind of movies Jet Li makes. He looks pretty familiar, since I sometimes sit and watch a few.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. Didn't know your song, South to Louisiana either, but I did notice it was similar to Johnny Horton's song.

Here's one that I discovered recently.

@edgarblythe,
As do I, edgar.

Judy Collins' Secret Garden was beautiful. I could touch and smell the flowers as a result of the visuals.

My mom always had a beautiful garden in Virginia as did I.

Well, Diana sings about a Garden in the Rain.

@edgarblythe,
I really enjoyed Laughter in the Rain by Neil, edgar. Diana sings all the golden oldies, Texas.

Raining in my heart and It doesn't matter anymore are the songs on Buddy Holly's last record. Note that the Crickets are absent on both tracks.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't notice about the Crickets, edgar.

Great one by Steve Lawrence. I remember his, "Go Away Little Girl"; didn't know Pretty Blue Eyes by him, however.

One to match, Texas.

What a surprise to see the duo that introduced him.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Barry. You sent me searching about Katie.

Ketevan "Katie" Melua (born 1984-09-16) is a Georgian-born, Belfast-raised, British singer-songwriter. (I'm assuming that Georgian means Russian, not Georgia, USA)

"Dancing is an important function of music, but so is crying."

That gal is fabulous. She is not only beautiful, she is wealthy and has talent.

edgar, Thanks again for your comments and Love the Platters' It's Twilight Time.

Loved I Think It's Going to Rain Today.

edgar, had no idea that Bobby did Volare. Great song by him.

As to The Platters, there is no twilight here in Florida unfortunately

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First a light jazz version by Sonny Rollins with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox1MMDtsAFk

I dim all the lights and I sink in my chair.
The smoke from my cigarette climbs through the air.
The walls of my room fade away in the blue,
And I'm deep in a dream of you.

The smoke makes a stairway for you to descend;
You come to my arms, may this bliss never end,
For we love anew just as we used to do
When I'm deep in a dream of you.

Then from the ceiling, sweet music comes stealing;
We glide through a lover's refrain, you're so appealing
That I'm soon revealing my love for you over again.

My cigarette burns me, I wake with a start;
My hand isn't hurt, but there's pain in my heart.
Awake or asleep, ev'ry mem'ry I'll keep
Deep in a dream of you.

Next, "old blue eyes"
Wanted to do the one with all of his songs on it, but it was too long.

Always good to have London with us.

and, as always, from Letty with love

here is a short cut from one of canada's favourite shows - long cancelled , of course :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM7pdSQwqgc&feature=related

Quote:
Don Messer's Jubilee was a television folk musical variety show produced at station CBHT in Halifax, Nova Scotia and broadcast by CBC Television nationwide from 1957 until 1969.
....................................................................................................
Outside of Hockey Night In Canada, in the mid-1960s Don Messer's Jubilee was the #1 show in the country, earning higher ratings than even the imported CBS variety show, The Ed Sullivan Show. The guest performance slot gave national exposure to numerous Canadian folk musicians, including Stompin' Tom Connors and Catherine McKinnon.
