@Letty,

Used to be Cliff Richard and the Drifters but they had to change that because there was already an American vocal group with that name.

@McTag,
Welcome back, McTag and thanks for that info. Here's a surprise.

LONDON (AP) — Hong Kong pop singer Eason Chan has good reason to love London — he's become the first Chinese performer to play the city's O2 arena, starring in his sold-out DUO Concert.
Some 12,000 fans descended upon the iconic venue in the British capital Monday night to hear Chan perform twenty five songs from his Mandarin and Cantonese repertoire.
In an interview before the concert, the 37-year-old singer said he was surprised and pleased to have so much international support.
"I never thought I had so many fans in Europe. I heard people are coming from Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg and Spain," he said.
"Maybe they're bored," Chan added, joking.

Found this one that I like by the guy.

Quote:
"April in Portugal" is a popular song, also named "The Whisp'ring Serenade." The music and lyrics were written by Raul Ferrão as a fado named "Coimbra", about the city of that name. In 1947. English lyrics written by Jimmy Kennedy were set to the music, though many of the most popular versions of the song were instrumentals. It is one of the signature songs of Portuguese singer and fadista Amália Rodrigues.

@hamburgboy,
Welcome back to you as well, hbg. Had no idea that Sachmo did April in Portugal. Great one and thanks for playing it.

Odd, yawl, I haven't seen any birds of color except the cardinal. A while back, I did see two robins, but they were dull in color. Wonder why?

Well, let's listen to Al Jolson sing about them anyway.

Welcome back to you as well, Brit. Love Nancy Wilson, but my favorite by her is Guess Who I Saw Today My Dear.

Another birthday day girl, and this is unique in that John Denver is a part of it.

Happy Birthday Barbra,

Love The Way We Were, Brit. Yep, that was one of the Bee Gees.

Welcome back to you as well, edgar, and My Heart belongs to Me was great. Incidentally, thanks for your comments.

A bit of a change now. I love this one because I used to sing it to my daughter.

edgar, Ben Colder was hilarious. Loved Sunday Morning Falling down. Thanks for your comment. Those lyrics to Red Wing were not the ones that I recall.

hbg, Old Blue Eyes doing April in Paris was great, and I had no idea that "the velvet fog" did that one as well. I still like Al Jolson's version.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, a birthday man.

Doug "Cosmo" Clifford (born Douglas Clifford, April 24, 1945, Palo Alto, California, United States) played drums in the American rock band, Creedence Clearwater Revival. After CCR broke up, Clifford and former CCR bassist Stu Cook joined Don Harrison in the Don Harrison Band, and also issued a solo album called Cosmo.

In 1995, Clifford and Cook formed the band Creedence Clearwater Revisited

Now, an oldie but goodie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX_IWJf9aFU&feature=related

The lyrics are featured there as well.

Great having so many different countries with us today. Dublin, Scotland, Ontario, Hong Kong, and London.

From Letty with love to everyone, everywhere

Pete Tex has a sound very near to that of Billy Vaughn. Have you ever seen Rain is one song that will never die.
Good night folks.

Hurry back edgar, and I missed your Flying Burrito Bros. song Wild Horses. Great one, and although I don't know the man, I'm sorry for his demise. Thanks once again for your comments

You hurry back, too, Brit. Also missed Roy's Sweet Dreams, but here are the lyrics.

Sweet dreams of you
Every night I go through
Why can't I forget you and start my life anew
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

You don't love me, it's plain
I should know I'll never wear your ring
I should hate you the whole night through
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

Sweet dreams of you
Things I know can't come true
Why can't I forget the past, start loving someone new
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

Two songs for the morning here in Florida.

First, a tribute to Hugh Laurie who has discontinued his Dr. House after seven years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyvj4n67jWA&feature=related

Now, a tribute to a birthday man, Al Pacino.
