@edgarblythe,
Joan is always good, edgar. You sent me searching again.

Farrell H. Draper (January 25, 1923 – March 28, 2003) known professionally as Rusty Draper, was an American country and pop singer who achieved his greatest success in the 1950s.

Born in Kirksville, Missouri and nicknamed "Rusty" for his red hair, he began performing on his uncle's radio show in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the mid 1930s. Draper moved on to work at radio stations in Des Moines, Iowa—sometimes filling in for sports announcer Ronald Reagan—and in Illinois before settling in California. There he began to sing in local clubs, becoming resident singer at the Rumpus Room in San Francisco. By the early 1950s he had begun appearing on national TV shows including The Ed Sullivan Show (CBS) and Ozark Jubilee (ABC).

That was one funny song.

Well, "seek and ye shall find"; Here's the other side of the coin.

Apollo 11 Moon Landing Site Seen in Unprecedented Detail
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/apollo-11-moon-landing-site.jpg
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera snapped its best look yet of the Apollo 11 landing site on the moon. The image, which was released on March 7, 2012, even shows the remnants of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's historic first steps on the surface around the Lunar Module.

The clearest view yet of the famous Apollo 11 landing site on the moon was captured by a NASA spacecraft in orbit around our planet's natural satellite.

The agency's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) zeroed in on Mare Tranquillitatis, or the Sea of Tranquility — the place where humans first touched down on the lunar surface on July 20, 1969. The new image from LRO captures amazing details of the historic site, even revealing the remnants of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's first steps on the moon.

In the image, the astronauts' tracks are the dark regions around the Lunar Module that lead to and from various scientific experiments that were set up on the surface of the moon.

LRO's camera snapped the picture as the probe flew only 15 miles (24 kilometers) above the moon's surface. The image, which was released on March 7, provides the best look yet at humanity's first venture to another world, NASA officials said in a statement.

ah, edgar Paul Simon and Chevy Chase. Love You Can call me Al

Welcome back, Brit. "one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind "

Loved that one by Leona Lewis. Footprints in the Sand was lovely.

Reminds me of Longfellow:

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time.

edgar's bit about Chevy Chase reminded that he was inspired by Ernie Kovacs. Wasn't the firt animal in space a monkey?

First, The Nairobi Trio.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar.

Never heard that Hot Dog by the "king" but I certainly know that one by "the laid back Mr. Como.

Going to say Goodnight myself with two songs. I know, I've played this one hit wonder before, but I love it.

Quote:
Georg Philipp Telemann (14 March 1681 – 25 June 1767) was a German Baroque composer and multi-instrumentalist. Almost completely self-taught in music, he became a composer against his family's wishes. After studying in Magdeburg, Zellerfeld, and Hildesheim, Telemann entered the University of Leipzig to study law, but eventually settled on a career in music. He held important positions in Leipzig, Żary, Eisenach, and Frankfurt before settling in Hamburg in 1721, where he became musical director of the city's five main churches. While Telemann's career prospered, his personal life was always troubled: his first wife died only a few months after their marriage, and his second wife had extramarital affairs and accumulated a large gambling debt before leaving Telemann.

what a life ! Shocked

no wonder his hair turned all white !
