Pete Seger composed Turn Turn Turn for Judy, I have read. He only had to change one word, to make the lyric right for the music. Very quickly, the Byrds turned it into a huge hit.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the info about that song, edgar, and that's one by B J that I didn't know. What a Difference You've Made was lovely. I assume that he is talking about Jesus in that one.

Another surprise. I didn't know that Hank Williams had been fired from The Grand Ole Opry, nor did I know that a couple of people had done the remake of his best song. Hank indeed was a poet.

Here is B.J. doing a great version of the song.

Welcome back, Brit. I had no idea that Dusty S. was a nom de plume for Mary O' Brien. She did a great job on that one.

edgar, thanks again for your comments, and that Paris Be Mine by The Bicycles gave me a smile.

This must be remake day on WA2K.

Here's the original composer.

Goodnight, Brit. Sleep peacefully. My favorite of yours was The Pips doing Marvin Gaye's original song, I Heard it Through the Grapevince. Also liked Come on Baby Light My Fire.

edgar, Englebert's Les Bicycles was fantastic, and thanks again for your comment.

Hope Barry the Brit doesn't have A Midsummer's Night Dream. The Bard belongs to England. Saying goodnight with "the bard".

a bit of info

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a play that was written by William Shakespeare. It is believed to have been written between 1590 and 1596. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of 9 amateur actors, who are manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

Hurry back, edgar,Loved Mad John's Escape by Donovan, and thanks again for your comment.

hbg, Ah, loved those two polkas and the waltz. Thanks, Canada.

Welcome back, Brit. Herbie Hancock is one of my favorites. Chameleon was great. Used to get him confused with Herbie Mann. Both of those jazz guys are good.

Another great jazz man, and his birthday is today.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. Artificial Flowers by Bobby was great, of course, but a bit sad as well. Always appreciate your comments on what we play here.

Breaking news.

John Legend, Mumford & Sons to play state dinner in Washington, D.C. today.

How about a memory of the great John Legend.

Ah, edgar, deportees and immigrants. Great one by Arlo Gurthrie and Family. I know Mary would be pleased. Thanks for your observation once again.

Where have all the flowers gone? Maybe that's what Bobby meant about Artificial Flowers.

Wanted to find a good version of Freight Train, but no luck. I did remember correctly about Jesse James. The "iron horse" stole his land via eminent domain.
