@Rockhead,
Welcome back, Rock. Love that tribute to the Pirates of the Caribbean.

As I told our listeners and contributors, I had mal de mer this morning because someone rocked my dream boat. Was it you? I think it was Natalie Cole.

I didn't know Julie Andrews' song. Did not know Natalie's either.

This song was already played, by another artist. This is my favorite version

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Great one, edgar. Didn't know Lolita but she was excellent. Especially liked the visuals in her traditional German dress.

Here's an old Hank Williams song as done by Leon Russell.

Not to be snarky, but, while hank did sing it, I'll Sail My Ship Alone is actually a Moon Mullican song. Razz

I always liked Tommy and Dickie for their politics as much as their comedy.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, snarky. I knew that the moon man had done it, too, but I just look for different versions. Love Charlie Pride singing that tribute to Dallas Frazier. Had no idea that he had written the lyrics to so many songs. Great one, Texas.

Well, we'll let The Doobie Bros. do a moon one for the Mulligan guy.

Thanks again for yours and edgar's comments on what we play here.

Today is James Joyce's birthday.

Here is a beautiful version of "the artist as a young man."

@Letty,
Yes it's a big year for Joyce fans Miss Letty, Ed.
By Suzanne McCarthy,
Quote:
This February 2nd, to celebrate the 130th birthday of James Joyce and the 90th anniversary of the publication of Joyce’s mighty novel, Ulysses, author Frank Delaney reads from Ulysses to the public in Madison Square Park, and through video, to the world. The year 2012 has also seen the release of Ulysses into the public domain, an event much anticipated by Joyce scholars and aficionados, long hampered in their efforts by the litigious Joyce estate. Ulysses, even with copyright restrictions, has through the years inspired readings, reenactments, and even twitter events the world over, and Delaney’s reading is surely a harbinger of many inventive interpretations to come.

edgar, loved your tribute to James Joyce. I knew most of the songs behind that Walking into eternity.

euroGeorge. Wonderful tribute to Joyce by Frank Delaney, and, of course the Buffy one.

Your goodnight song was lovely. Christy Moore's Ride On was so calming and delightful. Sleep well, dear Irishman.

Welcome back, Osso.

Going to say goodnight a bit early as it's been a long day for me.

Inspired by edgar's video, I went searching and found these two songs that are delightful

First. Just a song at twilight.

Now, ah, so fair.

Nice to have different countries with us today and tonight.

@Letty,
Thanks, letty. Love's Old Song is a favorite and the second song you played, Ah So Fair, is good also.
On her album, Baptism, which I have, on vinyl, Joan Baez begins one track with the opening lines of A Portrait of the Artist.
Here is a thorough sampling of Baptism, for anyone interested.
