edgar, Thanks for the explanation and introduction to the Purple Sage guys. Liked Moon Mulligan, too. I'm Black was funny.

Goodnight euroGeorge. Blue Mink was great. Sleep well.

Welcome back to you, too, Brit. Mr. Dream Merchant sent me searching.

Madeline Bell (born July 23, 1942, Newark, New Jersey) is an American soul singer, who became famous as a performer in the United Kingdom during the 1960s, having arrived from the US in the gospel show Black Nativity in 1962, with vocal group The Bradford Singers

Great one! Hope I didn't miss anyone and their music. Suffice it to say you have made my day better.

Saying goodnight with "the singing bus driver"

hbg, I know The Everly Brothers and thanks for that song, Ontario

Hey, Brit. Love that one by Natalie. She and Nat sang Unforgettable and they were great together. Aretha does Oh, Mary Don't you Weep in the same way soul music should be done.

Rock and Barry, thanks for saying my name as it is and always has been a policy of your producer and program director to do so. It makes us a real radio.

I loved that one by Heart. These Dreams was lovely.

It seems that just when we get one thing fixed, another breaks. <sigh>

Never heard mice sing, edgar, just squeak.

Today is Brandon Lee's birthday and I listen to an entire documentary about his and his father's life. It was truly fascinating. Odd, as this is the year of the dragon, and Bruce did The Year of the Dragon.

Brandon, now.

I did not realize how much Soul Train meant to folks, before today. They have recently been rerunning it on a local channel. My wife used to watch it back when.

I have a great orange record of the Everly Brothers' greatest hits. I think it must be a UK import. Don't remember for sure.

edgar, First allow me to thank you for your comments. The Bobby Blue Band was great. Don't know the soul train man, so thanks for the introduction.

hbg, Love those Shanty songs. There is nothing better in this world than fresh fish filleted and fried. Pompano is especially good. Love Blow the Man Down.

Hmm, trying to recall another shanty song. "...it's just an old shanty in old shanty town.." Something like that.

Today is Langston Hughes birthday, and I love his poetry. May put this on edgar's poems that tell stories as well.

I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world
and older than the flow of human blood in human veins.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathe in the Euphrates when dawns were young.
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans,* and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset.

I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers

The Stranglers. I think I would have chosen another name. The music was good. I like hbg's sea music.

Oops, euroGeorge, Missed your song by The Stranglers. Good song, but I'm with edgar on the name of the group.

Thanks for your comments as well. "....There is a mouse in New Orleans..." ?Funny.

@edgarblythe,
They started off life as a Punk Rock band Ed, around the same time as the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Damned. You see a pattern there. Mr. Green

The Clash. - - - - Rock the Casbah.
