Hi Miss Letty, Ed & all WA2K dj's.

The lady known as Ireland's first international pop star Bridie Gallagher passed away today, here's a song or two or three from her.

The homes of Donegal.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, edgar, thanks for restoring our signal and your comment on Van Gogh. Razz . You sent me searching again. (Oops, missed our Irishman. Sorry euroGeorge.)

Paul "Biff" Rose is an American comedian and singer-songwriter.

Born in New Orleans, Rose first came to prominence as a banjo-toting standup comedian, profiled in Time magazine in 1965. By 1966 he moved to Hollywood, working as a comedy sketch writer with George Carlin for a host of television variety shows, ultimately working with some regularity on the Mort Sahl show. Eventually, Rose moved back to songwriting.

I like Here's to the Gentle People, buddy. Especially enjoyed the contra bass being bowed.

Today is Donny Osmond's birthday and here he is with his brothers.

Those guys were good.

So, he was a hippie?

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comments, edgar. Loved Where There is Love by Mary MacGregor; Lovely wedding visuals, too.

Here she is with a different frame of mind. Incidentally, there really was an Eric (the phantom) but he was born with deformities.

Here is Mary as Christine.

@edgarblythe,
Love Jefferson Airplane, edgar, and thanks again for your comment. Well, Grace, I thought that I saw one once, really. Looks like time flying.

Reminds me of James Taylor's signature song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwugjyeSKx4

"...sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground". It was about not about that airplane, however.

That is James Taylor's best effort, in my view. Crystal is pretty good too.

Mumford & Sons - Winter Winds.

As the winter winds litter London with lonely hearts
Oh the warmth in your eyes swept me into your arms
Was it love or fear of the cold that led us through the night?
For every kiss your beauty trumped my doubt

And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no
This time no"

We'll be washed and buried one day my girl
And the time we were given will be left for the world
The flesh that lived and loved will be eaten by plague
So let the memories be good for those who stay

And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no"
Yes, my heart told my head
"This time no
This time no"

Oh the shame that sent me off from the God that I once loved
Was the same that sent me into your arms
Oh and pestilence is won when you are lost and I am gone
And no hope, no hope will overcome

And if your strife strikes at your sleep
Remember spring swaps snow for leaves
You'll be happy and wholesome again
When the city clears and sun ascends

And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no"

And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no
This time no"

edgar, loved Bert's Blues by Donovan and thanks again for your comments.

Brit, Welcome back. Don't know Munford and Sons, but that Winter Winds was great. Especially enjoyed the visuals, London.

Well, according to Bob's son, something wicked this way comes is not an issue with him. Today is his birthday.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, Texas. Jackie Wilson's My Empty Arms was inspiring, so I'm going to say goodnight with two songs.

First, The Great Caruso with several versions of "the clown"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL7wdUPXpiM

and another by Tom Jones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM_LzrvXa_Y&feature=related

So nice to have Ontario, London, and Ireland with us today along with the US of A.

From Letty with love to the world.

Good early morning from here in Florida WA2K folks.

edgar, thanks again for your comment, and I really thought about Chuck Wills and his What Am I Living for. I've often wondered about that.

Today is Emily Dickinson's birthday so here is a tribute to "the belle of Amherst".

hbg, love that one by Crystal and Eddie. Thanks, Ontario for the memory nudge.

@Letty,
Just before and after his death, Chuck Willis released songs with these titles: What Am I Living For, Hang Up My Rock n Roll Shoes, My Life. Like he expected something to happen.

I was reading some Emily Dickenson just last night.

This Fred Rose song was first recorded by Hank Williams

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks for that info on Chuck. Odd and predictive it was.

Take These Chains From My Heart was great and I had no idea that Hank had covered it first. Oops, it seems that I had the wrong calendar on Emily. She was born in December. Doesn't matter as a tribute to her is always appropriate.

Today IS Jim Croce's birthday, so here is one by that fabulous performer.
