Shiver, Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, hurry back. It's too cold to work.

The Bells of Notre Dame was great. Quasamodo born again? In The Navy by the Village People was also a good one.

hbg, enjoyed all your songs. Men of the Deep; Can't Stop the Music, and Margo's Cargo by Stompin' Tom was funny. Warmed me up a bit, Ontario.

Hey, Brit. The Saw Doctor's feat was a funny version of Pet Clark's Downtown.

Here's a Disney version of The Hamlin man. It was originally done as a fable by Robert Browning.

Today is "the Great Dane's "Birthday, so here is a tribute to the marvelous and humorous pianist.

@Barry The Mod,
I saw that, Brit. The queen of soul is still amazing.

Love that combination of Pink Cadillac and The Peter Gun theme.

Remember this one?

@Barry The Mod,
You sent me searching, Brit. (I recall your having told me that many years ago)

Steven Gene Wold, commonly known as Seasick Steve, (born 1941)[is an American blues musician. He plays (mostly personalized) guitars, and sings, usually about his early life doing casual work.

@edgarblythe,
Manhattan Serenade by Jo was great, edgar. What a clear and lovely voice she had with no vibrato.

Saw the story of Ray Charles last evening. Jamie Foxx did a great job, and I just found out they made this the state song.

The film about Ray focussed on the negative so much, it was hard to pick out the Ray everybody loved.
Georgia by him is one of the great recordings of all time.

Goodnight, dear Brit and edgar.

Funny, I had no idea that Ray did a coca cola commercial.

edgar, Georgy Girl by the Seekers was great. The lady in the movie felt unattractive and too heavy, and that is the reason for the lyrics.

Time for me to say goodnight as well, WA2K. I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First Jethro. Yep Ian, we're really skating away on the thin ice of a new day.

Now one by two fantastic performers. Nat and Hoagy.

Love our contributors and hope they'll return soon.

From Letty with love to the world.

@hamburgboy,
i better include one of todays greatest singers in this broadcast , lest you think we produced nothing better than the mckenzie brothers , eh .

we had the good fortune to hear ben heppner when he was given an honorary doctor by our ( queen's ) university .

it turned out to be a delightful evening - not only is he a great opera and lieder singer , but a darn good story teller .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFU53C28Br4&feature=related

Quote:
Ben Heppner, CC (born January 14, 1956) is a Canadian tenor, specializing in opera and other classical works for voice.

Heppner was born in Murrayville, British Columbia, and lived in Dawson Creek. He began his musical studies at the University of British Columbia and first attracted national attention when he won the CBC Talent Festival in 1979.

Since then, he has gone on to become one of the most prominent dramatic tenors active today. He is associated particularly with the Wagnerian repertoire, but he performs a wide range of operas from the German, French and Italian canons.

Heppner performs frequently with major opera companies in the United States (including the New York Metropolitan Opera) and Europe, as well as concert appearances with major symphony orchestras. He has appeared in the DVD recordings of the Met's productions of Beethoven's Fidelio, Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, two of his signature roles. (He first performed Tristan with the Seattle Opera in 1998.) He specialises in some of the most challenging of operatic roles, including, in addition to Tristan, the title part in Lohengrin, the title part in Otello, and Berlioz's Aeneas.

no mention made of him being a great story teller - too bad !

@Barry The Mod,
Wow! That guy can really do the Motown, Brit. Let's Take a Walk with his bevy of beauties was great. Don't know Raphael, but he sure paints a picture. I was afraid that we had lost our signal again.

Diana say something else about a "walk"
