@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, do you think that Donovan might be doing a parody on The Lay of the Last Minstrel? ecumenical wine is fine. Yes, that lady's voice was wonderful.

Remembering Dan Fogelberg.

I can't get that one to play. Here is another by Dan. I prefer him like this to the music he is best known for.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, The Sand and the Foam. How very lovely and I noticed it was inspired by Khalil Gibran.

Well, since Dan's Minstrel wouldn't play, I'm going to do another Minstrel; then a twilight song.

My way of saying goodnight.

Now, The Platters again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HfXCZGOcDM&feature=related

Quote:
John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie ( /ɡɨˈlɛspi/; October 21, 1917 – January 6, 1993) was an American jazz trumpet player, bandleader, singer, and composer.[1]

Together with Charlie Parker, he was a major figure in the development of bebop and modern jazz.[2] He taught and influenced many other musicians, including trumpeters Miles Davis, Fats Navarro, Clifford Brown, Arturo Sandoval, Lee Morgan, Jon Faddis[3] and Chuck Mangione

now that we have dizzy , many of his friends may also want to appear on this station .

Jethro Tull. I will accept that.
Twilight Time is my favorite by the Platters.
hbg, I like that music. I am mostly a vocalist oriented listener, which is why I am not so likely to play Dizzy.

Good morning, WA2K folks. hbg, good to see you back.Great songs, and thanks for your comment as well. You realize that I love Dizzy, I'm sure. Barbara Cook was truly fantastic. Listen to Your Heart a real winner.

edgar, thanks again for you comments. Loved Turley Richards' Child of Mine. You hurry back. It was cold here as well.

That Newfoundland group was fabulous. Didn't know them. Hope my transcript didn't mislead me, and that I got the right song with the right contributor.

Inspired by Dizzy, I found a great jazz artist that died too soon.

And, folks, the lyrics.

My sweet Indian maiden,
Since first I met you,
I can't forget you,
Cherokee sweetheart.

Child of the prairie
Your love keeps calling
My heart enthralling
My Cherokee

Dreams of summertime,
Of lovertime gone by,
Thru my memory
So tenderly, and sigh.

My sweet Indian maiden,
One day I'll hold you
In my arms enfold you
My Cherokee

Dreams of summertime,
Of lovertime gone by,
Thru my memory
So tenderly, and sigh.

Sweet Indian maiden,
One day I'll hold you
In my arms fold you

Heard from hebba and invited him to visit our blog.

edgar, Thanks again for your comment, and Angie by Mick is really good.
