euroGeorge, Samantha Mumba Lately was really good.

Hey, Brit. What a great song by Hector Lavoe. Soy Vaga Bundo I didn't know either, and thanks for your comment as well.

Ah, McTag, I do know Brasil 66. Love Sergio Mendes. I vaguely recall Masque Que Nada.

Thanks to all of you. Want to hear something wonderful?

Listen to this child sing.

@Barry The Mod,
Hurry back, Brit. Love that Coventry Carol. Don't work too hard or you may end up with "...a hard day's night..." Razz

Time for me to say good night as well, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, A Lovely Way to Spend and evening replete with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HCFd7dY3O4

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
Can't think of anything I'd rather do
This is a lovely way to spend an evening
Can't think of anyone as lovely as you

BRIDGE
A casual stroll through a garden
A kiss by a lazy lagoon
Catching a breath of moonlight
Humming our favorite tune

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights and spend them with you

Catching a breath of moonlight
Humming our favorite tune

This is a lovely way to spend an evening
I want to save all my nights and spend them with you.

Now, a tribute to a birthday boy.

Astounded at his background.

Kiefer Sutherland was born in London, England, the son of Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, both of whom are successful Canadian actors. He has Scottish ancestry from both parents, and is the grandson of Canadian politician Tommy Douglas, widely credited for bringing universal health care to Canada. Sutherland and his twin sister, Rachel, were born in London (in Saint Mary's Hospital) while his parents were working there.

Love having other countries with us today.

From Letty with love and admiration

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Love Harry's Matilda and thanks again for your comment.

Well, maybe it's a bit to early in the game, but Diana Krall wants to ask all of us a question.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar. I love Take My Hand for Awhile. Buffy sounds so good on that one. I noticed in the visuals that she was standing beside this horse. Thanks again for your comment.

@edgarblythe,
Log Rollin' Blues is great, edgar. Don't forget to check out the horse song.

This is the first one that I heard by Buffy. Love the fact that it's acapella and she sounds great. Still trying to figure out what the instrument is in the background.

@Letty,
Buffy plays a mouth bow on Cripple Creek. It looks very much like the bow that shoots arrows, but for the size.

Thanks, edgar, for that info on Buffy's instrument.

hbg, Welcome back. Love Puccini and that beautiful aria was fantastic.

I remember him best for this one, however.

Quote:
Howard Hoagland "Hoagy" Carmichael (November 22, 1899 – December 27, 1981) was an American composer, pianist, singer, actor, and bandleader. He is best known for writing "Stardust", "Georgia On My Mind", "The Nearness of You", and "Heart and Soul", four of the most-recorded American songs of all time.[2]

Alec Wilder, in his study of the American popular song, concluded that Hoagy Carmichael was the "most talented, inventive, sophisticated and jazz-oriented" of the hundreds of writers composing pop songs in the first half of the 20th century.[3]
