Had to check out the expression "the world and his wife", Brit. Guess it means everyone. Like our edgar, had no idea that Don did Come Rain or Come Shine. Not shinning here yet. Love that song, however

Texas, thanks again for your comments, and Rhapsody in Blue is one of my favorites by Gershwin. What a talent.

My, my. Old Blue Eyes shares a birthday with Joe. What do you know?

Here's a tribute to The Chairman of the Board by a man that I don't know either.

Read an article today that a Saudi woman was beheaded for practicing sorcery. Which makes me think of this Sinatra song.

The guy tributing Sinatra is not bad.

@edgarblythe,
Love Witchcraft by Frank, edgar, but I'm stunned by your info on the Saudi woman.

Well, Van the Man has an answer.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, I love that Richie Haven song, but License to Kill reminds me that we my be returning to The Nightmare Before Christmas. (I thought of James Bond, too)

How about a sleigh ride.

edgar, Don't know that one by Tony Martin, but I do recall him doing Domino.

Hear is my Heart was an oldie but goodie, Texas, and thanks again for your comment.

Welcome back, jcboy. Don't know that bird song by Nelly, but it was lovely. Thanks for the introduction.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Bach.

The lyrics.

Jesu, joy of man's desiring
Holy wisdom, love most bright

Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring
Soar to uncreated light

Word of God, our flesh that fashioned
With the fire of life impassioned
Striving still to truth unknown
Soaring, dying round Thy throne

Through the way where hope is guiding
Hark, what peaceful music rings
Where the flock, in Thee confiding
Drink of joy from deathless springs
Theirs is beauty's fairest pleasure
Theirs is wisdom's holiest treasure
Thou dost ever lead Thine own
In the love of joys unknown

Wonderful day on WA2K, thanks to our different countries.

From Letty with love to you all

Finally, the sun is shining here, WA2K folks.

edgar, Thanks again for your comment and your goodnight song about Glenn Miller. What edgar said, hbg. Quebec is a place that I would like to visit.

Don't know Jacky Ward and Big Blue Diamond, but it was good, Texas.

Hey, Brit. That explanation of Lili Marlene by June Tabor was fantastic. Didn't know that about the song.

euroGeorge, Love Black is the Colour of my True Love's hair. Ah, you reminded me of more patois;the vanishing brogue of the Irish.

Don't know why, but I awakened with this song going round in my head.

@Barry The Mod,
Wow! Brit. I was beginning to think we were suffering from rain fade. Great one by Annie. Always have loved Winter Wonderland. I was wondering about those lyrics, London.

Here's one for the rain. Let's hope it doesn't turn to sleet, Willie.

Nice Marble Halls song, letty. Also Winter Wonderland.
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain - example of a very old song nobody knew, then becomes an enduring hit, after being recorded by the right artist at the right time.

The Streets - Dry Your Eyes.

Here's the words for those that don't talk like wot we do in London....

In one single moment your whole life can turn 'round
I stand there for a minute starin' straight into the ground
Lookin' to the left slightly, then lookin' back down
World feels like it's caved in - proper sorry frown
Please let me show you where we could only just be, for us
I can change and I can grow or we could adjust
The wicked thing about us is we always have trust
We can even have an open relationship, if you must
I look at her she stares almost straight back at me
But her eyes glaze over like she's lookin' straight through me
Then her eyes must have closed for what seems an eternity
When they open up she's lookin' down at her feet

Dry your eyes mate
I know it's hard to take but her mind has been made up
There's plenty more fish in the sea
Dry your eyes mate
I know you want to make her see how much this pain hurts
But you've got to walk away now
It's over

So then I move my hand up from down by my side
It's shakin', my life is crashin' before my eyes
Turn the palm of my hand up to face the skies
Touch the bottom of her chin and let out a sigh
'Cause I can't imagine my life without you and me
There's things I can't imagine doin', things I can't imagine seein'
It weren't supposed to be easy, surely
Please, please, I beg you please
She brings her hands up towards where my hands rested
She wraps her fingers round mine with the softness she's blessed with
She peels away my fingers, looks at me and then gestures
By pushin' my hand away to my chest, from hers

Dry your eyes mate
I know it's hard to take but her mind has been made up
There's plenty more fish in the sea
Dry your eyes mate
I know you want to make her see how much this pain hurts
But you've got to walk away now
It's over

I know in the past I've found it hard to say
Tellin' you things, but not tellin' straight
But the more I pull on your hand and say
The more you pull away

Dry your eyes mate
I know it's hard to take but her mind has been made up
There's plenty more fish in the sea
Dry your eyes mate
I know you want to make her see how much this pain hurts
But you've got to walk away now.

Had to make sure I played the edited version.Little ears may be listening.
