Hurry back, Texas.

Brit, You are all dressed up and smellin' purty and playing great songs on WA2K. Hope that means that you're going to hear Status Quo. Love Rockin' all over the World, incidentally.

Love that one by Otis Redding and Shades of Brown by James. Don't know Ashton Shepherd's Where Country Grows, but I really liked it.

euroGeorge, What a great song by Mark. Local Hero Wild Theme reminded me of Bogata. Ah, the conquistadores. Need to do more research on Simon Bolivar, Irish.

And here I sit in our studio still in my pink pajamas which reminded me of this one. (combination of tangos) the major one with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va18PIbf-l8

and the lyrics to the hideaway.

I know a dark secluded place
A place where no one knows your face
A glass of wine, a fast embrace
It's called Hernando's Hideaway, Ole!

And all you see are silhouettes
And all you hear are castanets
And no one cares how late it gets
Not at Hernando's Hideaway, Ole!

At the Golden Fingerbowl or any place you go
You will meet your Uncle Max and everyone you know
But if you'll go to the spot that I'm thinkin' of
You will be free to gaze at me and talk of love

Just knock three times and whisper low
That you and I were sent by Joe
Then strike a match and you will know
You're in Hernando's Hideaway, Ole!

Just knock three times and whisper low
That you and I were sent by Joe
Then srike a match and you will know
You're in Hernando's Hideaway, Ole!

@edgarblythe,
Well, Texas, you sent me searching again.

Mathis James "Jimmy" Reed (September 6, 1925 – August 29, 1976) was an American blues musician and songwriter, notable for bringing his distinctive style of blues to mainstream audiences. Reed was a major player in the field of electric blues, as opposed to the more acoustic-based sound of many of his contemporaries. His lazy, slack-jawed singing, piercing harmonica and hypnotic guitar patterns were one of the blues' most easily identifiable sounds in the 1950s and 1960s, and had a significant impact on many rock and roll artists who followed, such as Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones

Great one by that blues man. Thanks again for your comment. I knew the Ames Brothers had done the Hide-Away song, but thought that I would play the other double tango version.

Guess whose birthday is today. I know that you like her.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, I remember that one by " little miss dynamite", edgar.

Here's another birthday lady. Remember West Side Story? It was a loose adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

Rita Moreno is great.

I had to smile at a kid that I met and recognizing his ethnicity, I asked him what it was. He said, Porta Rica. I replied. The should be PUERta Rica. Razz

@edgarblythe,
I will always love Little Richard, edgar. All Around the World was true to his style. Thanks, buddy.

Here's a funny one. Do you recall Deck the Halls with Boston Charlie? Well, this isn't Pogo, but it's cute.

Sure, I remember that Pogo song. I was an avid fan of the strip. My brother Sam carried on a correspondence with Walt Kelly at one time. Kelly sent him three or four autographed books.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. How wonderful that Sam got an autographed copy of the Pogo book. Well, I guess It Came Upon a Midnight Clear by Mario leads me to this great tenor.
