@edgarblythe,
I love Kenny Rogers, edgar, and The Gambler is a good one. Hope our superb photographer, Barry, and Our bass player McTag will join us later. My photo on my new drivers license ain't so bad, although I did make several folks laugh when I asked them to do a photo shop version. Razz

Going to say goodnight with another new face and musician on the horizon.

First, some info.

Yanni was born on November 14, 1954, in Kalamata, Greece, and began his career by giving recitals for family members though he had no formal training and could not read musical notes. He was also a competitive swimmer in Greece and set a national record in the 50-meter freestyle competition at the age of 14. At the age of 18, he attended the University of Minnesota. As a student, Yanni joined an upcoming local group called Chameleon where he met drummer Charlie Adams.Chameleon earned some modest commercial success touring throughout the Midwest, particularly in the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and South Dakota. After receiving a B.A. in psychology in 1976 he sought a life in music. He moved to Los Angeles, in pursuit of movie soundtrack work. In 1987 he put together a small band which included John Tesh and Charlie Adams, and began touring to promote his earliest instrumental albums, Keys to Imagination, Out of Silence, and Chameleon Days.

@Barry The Mod,
Hope you slept better than I did, edgar. Four Strong Winds by Judy Collins was fantastic. Never heard that one.

Hey, Brit. You sent me searching again.

Glenda Collins (born 16 December 1943) was a British pop music singer active in the 1960s. Collins was discovered by Carroll Levis, whose promotion landed her a contract with Decca Records.She released three singles through Decca which failed to chart and was dropped by the label.

In the First Place was a great song by the lady.

Strange, after seeing Izziethepush do a quote by Will Rogers, I recall a movie about him and Wiley post made around 1953. All I could find was the cast.

A birthday girl for the morning here.

Lyrics in English.

Sondheim

Isn't it rich, aren't we a pair
Me here at last on the ground - and you in mid-air
Send in the clowns

Isn't it bliss, don't you approve
One who keeps tearing around - and one who can't move
But where are the clowns - send in the clowns

Just when I stopped opening doors
Finally finding the one that I wanted - was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
So sure of my lines - then nobody's there

Don't you love a farce; my fault I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want - sorry my dear
But where are the clowns - there ought to be clowns
Maybe next year

Isn't it rich, isn't it queer
Losing my timing this late in my career
But where are the clowns - send in the clowns
Don't bother they're here

McTag, you're right. I got up to dance and tripped over my studio chair. Love Blind Boys of Alabama. Was that you on the contra bass?

edgar, thanks for your comment, and although I don't know that song by Jane, it brought back a memory. We love what you PLAY here.

Speaking of rain, Texas, it's quit here for the moment.

Here are a couple of trailers that remind me of each other.

First, The Gods Must be Crazy.

I saw The Gods Must be Crazy. I doubt that I will watch The Immortals.
Here is a man I love. He played the Artful Dodger in David Lean's black and white film of Oliver Twist.

@edgarblythe,
I haven't seen The Immortals and probably won't either, Texas. The Gods Must be Crazy was funny, however.

I recall "the pick pocket" character of Anthony Newley. Loved Oliver, too. Why by him was excellent. Love the oldies.

Here's an answer by a Soviet Sinatra.

Don't much care for his treatment to the bridge of the song, however

edgar, Deano's Houston was great. Jerry is still with us as is this birthday girl.

My daughter went to a high school reunion, and it reminded me of the only one that I went to. I sang this and they paid me for it. I think my classmates were a bit surprised. Don't know why, but since I was a wee thing, I have always loved frogs.

So, the last of my goodnight songs.

Great to have Scotland and London with us today.
