Good morning. I feel invincible this morning. Of course, I haven't seen my work schedule for the day. I have a few minutes to spin a platter before I have to get ready to go -

Good morning WA2K folks.

First, I would like to tell hbg that I love that uke banjo player. I also enjoyed out Brit's Angie, but not certain what he meant by "..a sad day tomorrow.."

edgar, Loved "old blue eyes" My Way of Life. Also enjoyed Harry's Halleluja I Love Her So. Did I just hear Buddy Hollie and Rave on? You take care today, buddy.

Salute to a birthday girl.

First, some info on the lady.

Britt-Marie Ekland (born 6 October 1942) is a Swedish actress and a long time resident of the United Kingdom. She is best known for her roles as a Bond girl in The Man with the Golden Gun, and in the British cult horror film The Wicker Man, as well as her marriage to actor Peter Sellers, and her high-profile social life.

Now, her tribute

@Letty,
Good Day Miss Letty, great to see you at the helm.
A nice tribute to the beautiful Britt. I've listened to most of
the music from today and yesterday, loved most of it.
I have to say the one that really got me was Tony Bennett &
Lady Gaga performing "The Lady Is A Tramp". Gaga might be
a crazy dresser but can she sing, I was impressed.

@eurocelticyankee,
euroGeorge, Welcome back and thanks for your comment on Britt.

Lisa Hannigan's Passenger was really good. Don't know that lady, but thanks for the introduction. Too bad that the LSO will no longer perform here.

I've been reading about Steve Jobs' death, and I found this. I always thought that he built the personal pc in his garage.

My goodness, here is my favorite Brit and Brittess with us today. Smile

Dear Izzie, I love that song by Ellie Goulding. Didn't Sir Elton do that one as well?

Thank you, dear lady. Hugs back.

Hey, Brit, good to see you back as well. Thanks for the introduction to Ronnie Spector. Don't Worry Baby was a great one. I hope your day is a little better.

euroGeorge, yes, I was referring to The London Symphony Orchestra.Yep, Steve and Bill were a different pair then.

Love Cold Play's Viva La Vida. If I Could Rule the World is great.

Met a lovely lady from Brazil today and we discussed the music of her country. It reminded me of this one.

Good afternoon - evening, by now. I worked pretty hard today. Carried bags of concrete up stairs, ran electric wiring in an attic, and so on. I have checked out much of what has been played here. May come back and play something a bit later.

@Letty,
Loved Brazil Miss Letty.
It's funny we're thinking strongly of going there for a month or so.
Stay with some friends in Sao Paulo. I've always wanted to see Brazil,
I'm thinking a month wouldn't be long enough.
I'd like to visit the rain forest while it's still there. Crying or Very sad
I'll say good night, have nice night yawl.

Ed carrying bags of cement upstairs is a young mans game, I know
I've done it. It gets the heart pumping and the legs wobbling.

@eurocelticyankee,
Goodnight, dear EuroGeorge. I would love to go to Brazil myself. Our manager, Robert, is from there originally. Brazil by Belli was fabulous.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

More serendipity. I was looking for a concrete song for edgar, and came across cement instead.

First, some info on our man.

Bulee "Slim" Gaillard (January 4, 1916 – February 26, 1991) was an American jazz singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist, noted for his vocalese singing and word play in a language he called "Vout". (In addition to speaking 8 other languages, Gaillard wrote a dictionary for his own constructed language.)

Now, his performance.

What a talent.

I missed Perry adaptation of Chopin's Polonaise. It was called Til the End of Time.

You are one great talent, Mr. Como.

I first heard Cement Mixer on the radio, when I was very young. Don't recall the artist. I know it was recorded by at least several people.

Perry does it nice, as usual.

Here is Tom Baxter

Good early morning here in Florida, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, you sent me searching again.

Tom Baxter (born Thomas Baxter Gleave on 29 October 1973) is an English singer-songwriter based in London. He was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, and grew up in Cornwall with his sister Vashti Anna, two brothers, Jo Spencer and Charlie Winston, and parents Jeff and Julie Gleave (who were regulars on the folk music circuit in the late sixties and early seventies). Tom and his siblings use their middle names as stage surnames.

After moving to London at age 19 to attend music college, he spent many years on the gig circuit before successful residencies at Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush and The Bedford in Balham brought him to the attention of record labels.

Better was a great song, Texas.

Goodnight Irene and hbg.

wm, I love Reasons for Waiting by Jethro Tull. Last concert that I attended.

Also enjoyed The Lovin Spoonful's Darlin be Home Soon. Didn't know that that one, but thanks for the introduction.

A tribute to a marvelous cello virtuoso and perfect for the beginning of the day. It's Yo Yo Ma's birthday.

Now, a bug identification. Hope our tsar doesn't eat any of these. Razz
