@hamburgboy,
hbg, Although I don't know that beautiful couple, that waltz was great. Thanks for the introduction, buddy.

I'll bet we chased edgar off by playing Ray Anthony. You may not know that theme but it was the one from Mike Hammer with Stacy Keach. Love that guy.

I also love German composers. Know this place?

There are lyrics to this waltz but I haven't been able to locate them.

When I was a wee thing, there was a lovely German girl named Gretchen Crosswhite. She wore the traditional German dress of old.

@Letty,
i believe it's a picture of abbey melk ( kloster , abtei , stift ) .
it is located about an hour's drive from vienna ( as a boy of ten i spent a year in vienna - 1940/41 ) .
in october 2001 mrs h and i spent three weeks in vienna to enjoy the sounds - from the vienna boys choir to " schrammel musik " - and sights - from st. stephan's cathedral to local wine bars .
a holiday never to be fotgotten !!!

here is the story of abbey melk :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melk_Abbey

followed by some " schrammel musik " :

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Thanks for the info on the cathedral and those are not the lyrics that I recall to The Blue Danube, but they are better.

What a fantastic song on the zither, buddy.

I have an sos out to our edgar, but my mail isn't working too well.

Inspired by you, I am going to play this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0purlSxoKGU

I also did a song about Mayerling on edgar's "songs that tell storie" forum. I think that T.S. Eliot's Wasteland (poem) might have been a reference to that horrible experience

Several sources date this song in 1970, but it wasn't played on rock stations in the Houston/Galveston area until 1975. Don't know why ...

edgar, thanks again for your comments. Love Old Buttermilk Sky by Hoagy.

Ah, wm, sorry that you're feeling blue. Liked that song by The Four Tops, buddy.

Hey, Brit. You sent me searching.

Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter.

His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.

I really loved that stuff.

Here's a great one by an interesting duo.

This is the music I worked to this morning at the gym. I love all music but at the gym I have to have a fast beat.

Moves like Jagger.

Going to say goodnight a bit early tonight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs. First Joan Baez.

i thought i'd show you a video clip of the port of hamburg .
it's were i grew up and worked before coming to canada in 1956 .

the " hamburg river and sea pilots choir " provides appropriate music with the sea-shanty " baltimore " - with plenty of kissing being sung about Laughing .
