edgar said it for me, wmwcjr. We really appreciate your playing so many delightful songs on WA2K radio.

edgar, thanks to you and everyone for your contributions. Finally got things working. Loved that one by Donovan, buddy.

Wish I could acknowledge each contributor, but it is virtually impossible.

I'm going to say goodnight a bit early as I need to hit the hay.

My goodnight song, yawl.

@wmwcjr,
for reasons unknown to me , i was thinking of sammy davis jr. tonight .
he was one of the better entertainers of his time ... but also a fool who helped destroy his own life - how sad , indeed !

i think he had a beautiful way of portraying happiness and sadness - and foolishness .

btw. if you have not yet read his autobiography , i'd highly recommend it .

I've never really been a fan of Michael Jackson but some of his music is good to work out to. This morning's workout music, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

Awakened once again by the full moon setting over the Intracostal Waterway. Reminded me of the poem Silver

Silver

Slowly, silently, now the moon

Walks the night in her silver shoon;

This way, and that, she peers, and sees

Silver fruit upon silver trees;

One by one the casements catch

Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;

Couched in his kennel, like a log,

With paws of silver sleeps the dog;

From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep

Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;

A harvest mouse goes scampering by,

With silver claws and a silver eye;

And moveless fish in the water gleam,

By silver reeds in a silver stream.

Walter de la Mare

edgar, thanks again for your comments. Often, when I couldn't sleep, I would listen to that song by Charles Trenet It was always calming to me.

Loved 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul.

wmwc, jr. Funny that you should be inspired by Psycho's Norman. Liked all of your songs. Tonight You Belong to Me; Great Pretender, etc.

hbg, That was one of my favorites by Sammy. Yes, he had a terrible life. I sang What Kind of Fool Am I so long ago. (changed the lyrics to read woman, of course)

jcboy. Never heard that one by Michael Jackson. Thanks, buddy.

First a picture and info on the song that I'm going to play by a birthday boy.

The info about the song.

It was more than likely about drugs, though we can't be certain.

Now, the song.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Had no idea that Leslie Gore did Sunshine, Lollipops, and Roses. Thanks, buddy, for the memory.

Today is "the velvet fog's" birthday, and here are two of my favorite jazz musicians. We'll dedicate this one to you and all of our German friends.

@wmwcjr,
You sent me searching for Spirit, wm.

Spirit was an American jazz/hard rock/progressive rock/psychedelic band founded in 1967, based in Los Angeles, California. Hey, they were good and Fresh Garbage was a unique title.

Also enjoyed Ravel's Bolero. I used to tease Merry Andrew by calling that one, "...Ravel's Sleeve of Care..." Razz

Today is Nell Carter's birthday, and here she is in the original cast of the musical Ain't Misbehavin. (remember Fats Waller?)

When you get a chance, check out Mel and George. Love those jazz boys.
