Good one from the boys and Dusty.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for being our spokesman for today on WA2K. Throw Mama from the Train a Kiss by Patti was one that I haven't heard, but it seems there was a parody on that one. Someone actually threw mama from the train.

Thanks to our euroGeorge for his comments as well.

That tongue twister, Proper Cup of Coffee was hilarious as were the visuals, Brit.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions. Loved them all.

Was thinking of a great classic this morning, and the pop song inspired by it.

Now, the pop song based on the classic.

@jcboy,
jcboy, love Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean. I found this info on him.

Ocean's period of greatest success began with Suddenly during 1984, and its main single, "Caribbean Queen". The song's title and lyrics were changed for different regions, such that the song is also known as "African Queen" or "European Queen". The song won Ocean the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 1985 Grammy Awards. The album's title track also became a success, peaking at #4 in both the US and the UK and the song "Loverboy", while also being a #2 US success in 1985 was also featured in the very first scene of the popular UK BBC One TV series, Casualty, in 1986.

Now from Enya, one to match.

@Letty,
Patti Pages "Throw mama from the train" was great as was
Billy Oceans "Caribbean Queen", haven't listened to Billy for
ages, I have some of his albums, somewhere.
Lover's Concerto was lovely Miss Letty and Enyas "Caribbean Blue",
always loved that song.

I seen this movie years ago, Stop Making Sense, it's the Talking Heads
in concert and to this day it's still the best "movie concert" I've ever seen.

@eurocelticyankee,
euro, Throw Mama from The Train was a funny movie. check it out, and thanks again for your comments, Irish.

I used to refer to hingehead and rockhead as the talking heads. Love those two songs by them, especially the first one. How do they dance the way they do and still play their instruments? Love it!

Today is Daryl Dragon's birthday, but our listeners and contributors probably remember him best with Toni.

Hmmm, wasn't that song from Calamity Jane? I didn't know that she could sing. Razz

Hey, Doris, do you want to know another secret?

Natalie Merchant - Carnival.

I've walked these streets
A virtual stage
It seemed to me
Make up on their faces
Actors took their
Places next to me

I've walked these streets
In a carnival
Of sights to see
All the cheap thrill seekers
The vendors & the dealers
They crowded around me

Have I been blind
Have I been lost
Inside myself and
My own mind
Hypnotized
Mesmerized
By what my eyes have seen?

I've walked these streets
In a spectacle of wealth & poverty
In the diamond market
The scarlet welcome carpet
That they just rolled out for me

I've walked these streets
In the mad house asylum
They can be
Where a wild eyed misfit prophet
On a traffic island stopped
And he raved of saving me

Have I been blind
Have I been lost
Inside myself and
My own mind
Hypnotized
Mesmerized
By what my eyes have seen?

Have I been wrong
Have I been wise
To shut my eyes
And play along
Hypnotized
Paralyzed
By what my eyes have found
By what my eyes have seen
What they have seen?

Have I been blind
Have I been lost
Have I been wrong
Have I been wise
Have I been strong
Have I been
Hypnotized
Mesmerized
By what my eyes have found
In that great street carnival
In that carnival?

Hey, Brit, just don't let the sack hit you!

edgar, don't know Juice Newton's Queen of Hearts. Great one and thanks for the introduction, Texas.

Mad World by Gary Jules was rather sad, but good.

How about another world song by Jerry Reed.

@Letty,
Hi Miss Letty, enjoyed that classic by the Captain & Tennille and the
Beatles and Jerry Reed, three great tracks.
Enjoyed Eds Doris Day too, my Mams favourite, I remember she loved
Doris Day movies especially if Rock was in them too.
Juice Newton and Gary Jules were great too, nice version of Mad World.
First time hearing Natalie Merchant, sweet.

@eurocelticyankee,
Wow! euro. Aslan's Crazy World was a real winner. Don't know that one, but I listened twice. It said a lot about the situation through many eras. Thanks for your comments, Irish.

How about Gentleman Jim, who would like to welcome us.
