Thanks again for your comment, edgar. You hurry back. Your song by Blood Sweat and Tears is one that I didn't know. Thanks for the memory of I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know.

Hey, Brit. Welcome back. I am amazed at Doris Day's voice. Heaven Tonight was fantastic. Frankly, I think that she sounds better now than she did then. Move Over Darling was a good one with which to climb the stairs.

The Pogues Kristy MacCall singing Miss Otis Regrets and Just One of Those Things was great. You sent me searching again.

MacColl scored several pop hits from the early 1980s to the early 1990s. During this era, she often sang on recordings produced by her husband Steve Lillywhite, notably those of The Smiths and the song "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues.

MacColl was killed in a controversial boating incident in Mexico.

My favorite by Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comments, edgar. I had no idea that Peggy Lee did Spinning Wheel. I guess there wasn't much that she couldn't do.

How about a tango by a birthday boy.

and, the lyrics.

I touch your lips and all at once the sparks go flying
Those devil lips that know so well the art of lying
And though I see the danger, still the flame grows higher
I know I must surrender to your kiss of fire

Just like a torch, you set the soul within me burning
I must go on, I'm on this road of no returning
And though it burns me and it turns me into ashes
My whole world crashes without your kiss of fire

I can't resist you, what good is there in trying?
What good is there denying you're all that I desire?
Since first I kissed you my heart was yours completely
If I'm a slave, then it's a slave I want to be
Don't pity me, don't pity me

Give me your lips, the lips you only let me borrow
Love me tonight and let the devil take tomorrow
I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me
Though it consumes me, your kiss of fire

I can't resist you, what good is there in trying?
What good is there denying you're all that I desire?
Since first I kissed you my heart was yours completely
If I'm a slave, then it's a slave I want to be
Don't pity me, don't pity me

Give me your lips, the lips you only let me borrow
Love me tonight and let the devil take tomorrow
I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me
Though it consumes me??. the kiss of fire!!!

@edgarblythe,
Right, edgar. Antonia is a great actor.

I cannot believe how fantastic Elvis was in Surrender. What a great performance. I listened twice. He needed to do more of that kind of music.

Well, we might as well do a Rhumba, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Leonard's A Bunch of Heroes made me rather sad, edgar. Thanks again for your comments.

Don't know this artist, but today is his birthday and I am fascinated with him.

Born as William Schimmel Jr. in Arizona, and he prefers to be call "Schim."
He learned artistic skills from his father, William Sr. who was also a great water color painter and art instructor.
He also developed his talent as a singer-songwriter, and has several bands.

A Tribute to the birthday boy.

@Barry The Mod,
When I was twelve years old I met Doris Day. I was with my parents and we were out having dinner and she was sitting at the table next to us. Of course I didn’t know who she was but my parents did and it was a big deal to them.

edgar, that was funny. A cartoon animator? Love Willie and Waylon's Good Hearted Woman.

Hey euroGeorge. I Can't Stop Lovin' You is one of my favs. Don Gibson does it well, too.

Just found out that jcboy lives in Florida.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a great jazz song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDlSpCvnSzM

The lyrics, yawl.

Why can't I forget like I should?
Heaven knows I would if I could.
But I just can't keep you off my mind.

Though you're gone, I have to explain,
all around me you still remain.
Wonder why fate should be so unkind?

Waking skies at sunrise,
every sunset, too,
seems to be bringing me
memories of you.

Here and there, everywhere,
scenes that we once knew.
And they all just recall
memories of you.

How I wish I could forget
those happy yesteryears
that have left
a rosary of tears.

Your face beams in my dreams
spite of all I do.
Everything seems to bring
memories of you.
Those memories of you.

From Letty with love to all of you.

Florida is one of several states I have never been to. Maybe one day, before I grow too old to travel - which is likely about 30 years in the future.
Good jazz song, letty. Good night.
