I still watch a few minutes of I Love Lucy now and then. I am not sure how many times per day that show is still on, but I run across it frequently while channel surfing.

@edgarblythe,
I'll Be Around is a great one by Tony, edgar. Haven't seen Lucy in years.

jcboy, No Spicka de Americano is great. When I was on the way back from Virginia, I saw a guy sweeping the street. I asked him about his ethnicity and he said, "no spicka de English." Told him that I no spicka de Espanol either. Razz

Today is this lovely spice girl's birthday. First some info.

Geraldine Estelle "Geri" Halliwell (born 6 August 1972) is an English pop singer-songwriter, author, actress and philanthropist. After coming to international prominence in the late 1990s as Ginger Spice, a member of the girl group the Spice Girls, Halliwell launched her solo career in 1998 and released her album Schizophonic. Since then, she has released two more studio albums – Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and Passion – and four number one singles at the UK Singles Chart, "Mi Chico Latino", "Lift Me Up", "Bag It Up" and "It's Raining Men". In 2008, Halliwell published a book series named Ugenia Lavender. As a solo artist, Halliwell has sold 12 million records worldwide and been nominated for two Brit Awards in 2000 and 2002.

Her song.

I have heard a song or two by the Spice Girls that were to me pretty good. Thanks for the introduction of that one, letty.

@edgarblythe,
I remember that one by Glenn, edgar. He wasn't the greatest actor, but he knew how to sing. Haven't seen the remake of True Grit. Probably won't. Thanks again for the comment.

Here's a birthday boy, and I'm amazed again that he could sing.

Robert Mitchum got some radio play with his calypso music, particularly one titled Television. Of course, Thunder Road was his really big hit.
Another artist who tried calypso, Herb Jeffries, was more popularly known for Flamingo, which I have read sold fifty million copies.

@edgarblythe,
Wow, edgar. I know Flamingo and the Duke, but had to check out Herb. He's still with us, Texas. Great song. I remember Thunder Road now, too.

Here's a symphony that is breath taking.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comments. Harry's Shake Sonora was great.

ah, Buddy, the day the music died. Really enjoyed Well All Right.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs. First a surprise. Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelley. Amazing.
