Good morning. Time to rise and shine. Hopefully, I shall return and not fade away. I think I can play a song before I depart.

Good morning, WA2K contributors and listeners.

edgar, thanks for your comment, and sleep well, buddy. You're workin' too hard.

Hey, Brit. Don't know Keith Moon, but he's some drummer. Shhh! Don't awaken edgar.

Another Big Noise by Eric. Love it, 'cause I'm awake and raring to go.

Chad Smith and his funkey music. Great!

Too bad that you couldn't see the lunar eclipse, then you'd be dancing in the dark.

A birthday man. What a great pianist, yawl.

This will help our Texan to get his much needed sleep.

the lyrics.

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a newborn day

Flaming with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
A vow that all betray

For the passions that thrill love
And take you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And let it fall to hell
So ends the story

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a newborn day
Flaming with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
A vow that all betray

For the passions that thrill love
And take you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And let it fall to hell
So ends the story

Softly as in a morning sunrise
The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away

Another afternoon session.

Today is Jim Belushi's birthday, and the song he is singing was a surprise.

Sweet Home Albania?

That, of course, sent me searching for Kosovo, but decided instead for Far Away Places.

edgar, we know that you are there, 'cause we can hear you being silly. Razz

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, Mario.

the lyrics in English. (surprised to find out that the original version was by Frankie Laine)

Originally by Frankie Laine

Granada, I'm falling under your spell,
And if you could speak, what a
fascinating tale you would tell.
Of an age the world has long forgotten,
Of an age that weaves a silent magic in Granada today.
The dawn in the sky greets the day with a sigh for Granada.
For she can remember the splendor that once was Granada.

It still can be found in the hills all
around as I wander along,
Entranced by the beauty before me,
Entranced by a land full of sunshine and flowers and song.
And when day is done and the sun starts to set in Granada,
I envy the blush of the snow-clad Sierra Nevada,
For soon it will welcome the stars
While a thousand guitars play a soft habanera.
Then moonlit Granada will live again,
The glory of yesterday, romantic and gay

Barry Manilow is making a come back after ten years.

I checked out all five of your songs, letty. Granada, by Frankie Laine calls to mind a record album I owned, but lost. It is Command Performance, a collection of Frankie's most popular songs. The album cover has Frankie performing before the Queen of Great Britain. Granada was a great number as were most of the other songs.

Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your goodnight song from Barry. Glad he's back, and you hurry back as well. Thanks again for you comments.

Welcome back, Brit. Michael's Tell Me a Tale was great as was Ben's Under the Same Son. (loved that cello, but I was a bit perplexed about the lap guitar)

Sister by Munford and Sons was indeed a telling song.

Sorry that you couldn't find the lyrics to that song, but I'll keep searching.

Hey, Irish. Thanks for Cathy Davey's Little Red, and I love Rod and Amy doing I Don't Want to Talk About.

A new discovery for me, yawl, and the man is fantastic.

First, some info.

Michel Petrucciani came from an ItaloFrench family with a musical background. His father Tony played guitar, his brother Louis played bass and his last brother Philippe plays guitar too. Michel was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, which is a genetic disease that causes brittle bones and in his case short stature. It is also often linked to pulmonary ailments. In his early career his father and brother occasionally carried him, literally, because he could not walk far on his own unaided. In certain respects though he considered it an advantage as he got rid of distractions, like sports, that other boys tended to become involved in.

Now, his lovely song to greet the day.

Maybe Reyn will be here, too. He did bring the rain last evening and this morning.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks for the comment, Irish. Wow! love that piano man Richard Clayderman. The dancing lady was great as well. What a great instrumental.

This is the song to which I am trying to find the lyrics. Maybe you can help.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, you are so funny sometimes.

Thanks for that info on Bloomsday.

My two favorite poems by James Joyce.

James Joyce

Gentle lady, do not sing
Sad songs about the end of love;
Lay aside sadness and sing
How love that passes is enough.

Sing about the long deep sleep
Of lovers that are dead, and how
In the grave all love shall sleep:
Love is aweary now.

All day I hear the noise of waters
Making moan,
Sad as the sea-bird is when, going
Forth alone,
He hears the winds cry to the water's
Monotone.

The grey winds, the cold winds are blowing
Where I go.
I hear the noise of many waters
Far below.
All day, all night, I hear them flowing
To and fro.
