Hate to be contrary, this late in the day, but Mr Bojangles is not about Bill Robinson at all.
Quote:
"Mr Bojangles" is a song writtten and recorded in 1968. The song was inspired by an encounter with a street performer in the New Orleans First Precinct jail and refers to neither the famous stage and movie dancer "Bill Bojangles" Robinson nor the New Orleans blues musician Babe Stovall.

According to Walker, a murder on the 4th of July precipitatied the arrest of all the street people in the area. In the crowded cell, a disheveled homeless man began to talk to Walker, who had been arrested earlier for drunkeness. The man told various stories of his life, but the tone darkened after "Mr Bojangles" recalled his dog who`d been run over. Someone then asked for something to lighten the mood, and the man obliged with a tap dance.

Walker mentions that all the men in the cell had nicknames to prevent easy misidentification by the police. The dancer`s name was "Mr Bojangles". In his autobiography, Walker makes it clear that the man he met was white. Walker pointed out, at the time, the jail in New Orleans were segregated by color."

Good morning, everyone.

edgar, thanks again for your comment and the info on Bo Jangles. Love to learn here on our cyber radio, and your goodnight song, Polka Dots and Moonbeams is one of my favorites.

Hey, Brit. Funny clip of the Queen in Dublin. UhOh, euroGeorge will say we're stereotyping. Razz

That kid's voice is not to be believed, London. How can an eleven year old child have such a full, rich voice.

Two songs for the rather gray day here in Florida.

First Duran Duran.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for your comment. He is good, Texas.

Blind Melon's No rain was great. Don't know them, but that seemed to cheer up that little dancing girl.

Ah, Little Anthony. Tears on my Pillow is one I do know. Thanks for the memory.

I guess with the weird weather all over, we better listen to Earth, Wind, and Fire.

@edgarblythe,
Funny remark about your sister in law's cooking. You'll have to explain that, Texas.

Ah, love Arizona by Mark Lindsay, buddy. Don't know it, but thanks for the introduction. "...take off your rainbow shoes.."

Today is travel day on WA2K.

How about this one, then.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for Marty San Angelo. My older sister and her husband have been there.

You sent me searching again.

Andrew Maurice Gold (August 2, 1951 – June 3, 2011) was an American singer, musician and songwriter. His work includes the Top 10 single "Lonely Boy" (1977), as well as the singles "Thank You for Being a Friend" (1978), and "Never Let Her Slip Away" (1978).

His rendition of the theme from the television series Mad About You, entitled "Final Frontier," was used as the wake-up call for the Mars Pathfinder space probe in 1996.[2]

Gold was a prolific multi-instrumentalist as artist, producer, film composer, session musician, actor, painter, and singer.

Most of us know that was his theme song to The Golden Girls. Wonder if Betty White is still with us?

Here's James going to Carolina in his mind, yawl.
