Good morning WA2K.(at least in Florida)

edgar, Marty's Devil Woman and Johnny's Lonesome Town were great. Thanks again for your comments.

Rhapsody in the Rain by Lou I didn't know, but the first few bars sounded a bit like Romeo and Juliet.

Irish, Welcome back. Loved your virtual visit through Bloom and I recall Grace from Conan.

For the morning, how about some great songs.

First a birthday boy, Kenny G. and here's some info about him.

Kenny G was born in Seattle, Washington to a Jewish family and grew up in the city's Seward Park neighborhood, which is a center of the city's Jewish community. He came into contact with a saxophone when he heard someone performing with one on The Ed Sullivan Show. He started playing the saxophone in 1966 when he was 10 years old. He learned how to play under the direction of local trumpeter Gerald Pfister and by practicing along with records (mostly of Grover Washington, Jr.), trying to emulate the sounds that he was hearing. His first saxophone was a Buffet Crampon alto.

Now, his song.

Here's a memory of Grace, y'all.

Haven't heard from our Brits, neither Old Goat nor Barry, but maybe they're at this festival.

@Letty,
I can't hear Kenny G without thinking of his recurring part in the cartoon series King of the Hill.
I haven't seen the Conan films. I was surprised to learn he was a creation of H Rider Haggard.
I am a fan of Flamenco - Jose Greco, in particular.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I had no idea that Kenny G was in King of the Hill. I used to watch those series all the time. Nor did I know that Conan was done by H Rider Haggard.

I know that he did King Solomon's Mine and She (who must be obeyed)

Your selection by Jorgan Ingman's Anna was fantastic, Texas. Another great Dane. I was hoping that your video would end up with Apache.

More flamenco by a guitarist who is new to me.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, you sent me searching again.

Lord Tanamo (born Joseph Abraham Gordon, 2 October 1934, Kingston, Jamaica) is best known as a mento and ska performer and songwriter. He helped create the sound we now know as ska, by combining elements of calypso gleaned from Lord Kitchener, with the lilting mento rhythms of his childhood. He has been based in Canada for over thirty-five years.

Not a bad rendition of that lovely ballad, but let's compare, shall we"

@edgarblythe,
I knew that, edgar, but I was looking for the origin and here he is.

Agustín Lara (October 30, 1897 – November 6, 1970) was a Mexican singer and songwriter.He wrote more than 700 songs by the time that he had died.

I know Mimi by Al Jolson, because I have an album of his songs that I play sometimes when driving.
The guy that wrote My Heart Belongs to me was a great writer/artist.

@edgarblythe,
You know, edgar, I knew the melody to that one but never the title. Thanks for that one by Ray, and here's one by Sarah with the lyrics.

She's right. One mint julep is all it takes. Those drinks are pure and simply straight bourbon.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Brit. The rain in Spain lies mainly in the plain. Razz

Paco de Lucia is marvelous. Never heard him before, so you sent me searching again.

Paco de Lucía, born Francisco Sánchez Gómez (in Algeciras, Cádiz on December 21, 1947), is a Spanish virtuoso flamenco guitarist and composer. He is considered by many to be one of the finest guitarists in the world and the greatest guitarist of the flamenco genre. ]He is noted in particular for his dexterity, technique and strength in his right hand, capable of executing extremely fast passages using just the tips of his fingers.

He is a leading proponent of the Modern Flamenco style, and is one of the very few flamenco guitarists who has also successfully crossed over into other genres of music: he enjoys, and has been successful in, styles such as classical and jazz. He is the winner of the 2004 Prince of Asturias Awards in Arts and 2010 was awarded an honorary doctorate by Berklee College of Music in Boston.

How about some jazz fusion

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. From the sublime to the humorous. Love it, Texas. Archie was full of puns on that one. Still smiling.

How about some classical music, yawl.

English lyrics.

Granada, I'm falling under your spell,
And if you could speak, what a fascinating tale you would tell.
Of an age the world has long forgotten.
Of an age that weaves a silent magic in Granada today.

The dawn in the sky greets the day with a sigh for Granada,
For she can remember the splendor that once was Granada.
It still can be found in the hills all around as I wander along.
Entranced by the beauty before me,
Entranced by a land full of sunshine and flowers and song.

And when day is done and the sun starts to set in Granada,
I envy the blush of the snow-clad Sierra Nevada.
For soon it will welcome the stars while a thousand guitars,
Play a soft habanera.
Then moonlit Granada will live again the glory of yesterday,
Romantic and gay.

Just discovered that Frankie Laine did that one Another surprise

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, thanks for that info. I think most of us know that was about Bill Robinson. Don't know Jerry Walker and I had no idea he wrote the original Bo Jangles. He was great, Texas.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a new discovery.

The name in the title is an affectionate term for a lady.

Glad to have Dublin and London with us today.

Goodnight, world
