"Some Day My Prince Will Come" from Walt Disney's 1937 animated movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was written by Larry Morey (lyrics) & Frank Churchill (music), and performed by Adriana Caselotti (Snow White's voice in the movie).

Good morning, radioland.
I was impressed how the horse held to the routine, barry.
Snow White and My Fair Lady are two of my favorite films. I think I have watched them both a dozen times or more.

Rain's keeping me indoors this morning, Letty, not to mention
an aching back.
Here I'll round out this broadcast with a song about
getting back together, one by England Dan and John Ford Coley.

Well, thanks to Barry the Brit, I got everything fixed.

edgar, thanks again for your comments, and Johnny Paycheck's Colorado Kool-Aid was funny. Makes me think of a Boy Named Sue and Lust for Life.

Hey, Brit As you leave, know that my smiles follow you.

The Cavalry song reminded me that Russia defeated Napoleon by retreating. He and his army followed until the cold weather got 'em.

Love Get Me to the Church on Time and Snow White. edgar and I share a lot in common We both like My Fair Lady and Disney. Hey, Texas. Rodeo Clown by Moe was great!

Welcome back, Rex. Don't know Phoebe Snow's Poetry Man, but thanks for the introduction.

neco, I can't tell you the fond memories that "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight"by England Dan and John Ford Coley brings back to me. Thanks, buddy, and I hope your back gets better.

Two songs for the morning here.

First, a tribute to a birthday girl.

Had no idea that she was Swedish.

Now, Meadowland by The Red Army Chorus.

Ann Margaret is one of my favorites, but it depends on what she is doing.
Meadowland is very nice also.
Neko and Barry also played some good music.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks for those comments, and Island in the Sun is a movie that I never saw, but the music from Harry Belafonte is fantastic. It is so expressive of how ethnicity can often separate us, but in the end makes us one.

Today is this man's birthday, and I decided to play the theme from the movie.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Paul Simon, edgar. Do you suppose that we're all a little crazy after all these years? I didn't see Schindler's List either.

Today is Harper Lee's birthday. I think most of us know that her one and only was To Kill Mockingbird. Here's the theme from it.

Boo Radley was the real mockingbird and Truman Capote didn't ghost write it, he edited it.

Capote would have been better as an editor or ghost writer than doing his own projects, in my opinion. It has been so long since I watched the film I had forgotten the music.

@edgarblythe,
I read In Cold Blood, a non fiction novel. Love Linda, edgar. A different Drum was great. Not certain what was intended by The Stone Poneys, but I have another stone for you. (I loved Desperado by her.)

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment, edgar, and I liked The Cradle of Love. Rockabye Baby in the Tree Top. (there's a story behind the original nursery rhyme)

Speaking of "rock" I thought we might listen to these guys. Bill Haley and the Comets.

He got the name from this comet, incidentally, and if I'm not mistaken Mark Twain said that he was born when Haley's comet appeared and he would go out when it reappeared.

So, let's rock around the clock, shall we?

Bill Hailey was way out in front in the early days of rock music. Great music.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know that one by Gene Pitney, edgar. Half Heaven Half heartache was good.

From the news desk (as Barry the Brit would say)

When Space Shuttle Endeavour lifts off the pad in Florida this Friday, it will be carrying a very special payload. Contrary to what you might think, it won’t be a communications satellite, ISS module or telescope parts. No, the Endeavour will be carrying thirteen Lego sets that will be used aboard the International Space Station later this year as part of Lego’s Bricks in Space program.

I'm almost certain that it's timed to coincide with The Royal Wedding. Razz

Rocket Man by Sir Elton.
